Here is the 2nd installment of before and after pictures of a vacant home that Stage It In A Day! recently completed. This home had a very challenging floor plan and several really colorful rooms! All in all, we were happy with the turnout and the realtor told us we "targeted the perfect client for this property". Nice!

Bell Canyon, California Home Staging - (First Installment)

Stage It In A Day! - A premier Home Staging Company serving Ventura and Los Angeles Counties recently staged a vacant home in Bell Canyon California. This unique 3 bedroom/3 bathroom multi-level home sits on almost 2 acres, with the backyard abutting a hillside offering complete privacy and scenic views on several different levels.

Bell Canyon, CA is located in Ventura County; it straddles the Ventura and Los Angeles County lines and is minutes to Los Angeles.

The homeowner had preivously used a Real Estate Staging Company when selling a home in Northern California and knew how imperative it was to make a great first impression.

Stage It In A Day! was asked to coordinate all aspects of preparing the home for sale. The exterior and interior were professionally cleaned from top to bottom. Carpets were cleaned or replaced where needed. Tiles on both counters and floors were made to look almoust new. Both the exterior and interior were painted a more neutral palette. A landscaper was brought in to brighten up the front yard, while the backyard was transformed from overgrown and uninspired to beautiful and conducive to Southern California outside entertaining. Even the Japanese Tea House up on the hill was given an overhaul.

SOLD - Before It Was Officially on the Market!

We were contacted by a realtor who had just seen a vacant condo we had staged. Her listing was a townhome in a Westlake Village, CA area with mainly retirees living there. The owner was a spry 90 year old who was moving to a complex for the elderly. The realtor had already successfully persuaded her to paint (all cabinets too), all new hardware (doors/knobs), new windows, counters etc., etc.

The poor owner was being hounded by her new companions that all of this was not necessary. Fortunately, this long time client trusted her realtor. So with a limited budget, we staged a few of the rooms.

While showing other properties to a buyer in a slightly lower price range, the buyer asked specifically about this particular area. The realtor chirped "she had a unit that was not on the market yet as it had just finished being staged and would she like to see it, even though it was above her price range?" Well the buyer fell in love and said she it felt like home! She had been conservative with her budget and it turned out she was eligible for a higher sales price! So, sold before listed and a very happy buyer, seller and realtor!

P.S. Any tips you can give me on how to size the pictures easier and more evenly would be greatly appreciated!

Using Nature as Sculptural Art

Well here goes...my very first blog! Hope it turns out ok.

Recently the homeowner behind me was high up in his palm trees cutting down these large "canoe looking" leaves. As one dropped into my yard I immediately thought wall hanging! I asked my neighbor for these other valuable art pieces that were destined for the yard trimming bin. He was thinking along my lines and said "you can use these in your decorating business".

So I spray painted varnish on them, grouped them together and VOILA, they looked stunning in this tall vase I purchased on clearance at Pier 1. Below is a picture of them in the living room of a vacant home we just staged. (More pictures on that in another post!).
