blogging: South Beach Florida | Day 8 on Blog Tour USA - 07/09/07 10:05 PM
Captain's Log - 7/8/2007.... the Blog Tour USA RV pulled into South Beach Florida on the busiest and possibly hottest beach day of the season so far. Ocean Drive was BOUNCIN'... and spinners were SPINNIN'...the Cafe Cubano was ESPUMATIN'... man it feels good to be a gangster!
I met Joe while he was outside stretching his legs and chatting up the locals. The thermometer on Ocean Drive showed it was 105 degrees!... but it was a HUMID heat so we had to head into the RV.

Just wanted to make a quick mention of a new site that might come in handy.
Thus far I have posted on using Windows Live Writer to compose and post your blogs to AR and to your personal blogs. In reverse, copying HTML to Live Writer and saving as draft will back your info up for safety on your hard drive...
but what if your HD dies??
Try this site...and let me know what you think.
I did all three of my blogs... yes, even ActiveRain!
The first thing you do is set up an account...
then you add your blog posts...one by one

So, you've downloaded and installed Windows Live Writer but still don't know how to get it to work with ActiveRain??
Well, there's one good reason - ActiveRain does not support Windows Live Writer.
What??!? So why did I download it? Because you're blogging and it is a great formatting tool for you.
AND...You can McGuyver it to work! It is EASY. Here's how....
First, type your blog and format it up all pretty in Windows Live Writer. When you're done, click on SAVE DRAFT (gotta be safe!)
Then click on the VIEW button on your Menu Bar or Icon Bar above the Post window.

I've been spending a lot of time researching where to post my next blog... which site to use, how to publish it best, what topics, what domain names.... all these questions have flown through my radar and in my research I have found a great new tool that will help me accomplish my next foray into blogging with much ease.
Windows Live Writer Beta is a new tool by Microsoft that they've published and are distributing freely for bloggers to use. It is thus far a great tool for publishing and formatting your blogs properly for multiple sites.

So paranoia creeps over me every now and then... I can't help it. I have so many technology-challenged people in my midst it just seems that something is going to go wrong at any minute - and I'm usually right
A coworker has lost a hard drive on a NEW notebook twice already - he lost an old drive a few months back with ALL his old files on it...that lost him a TON of valuable data
It makes me wonder if we're being smart bloggers and BACKING UP OUR WORK.
