An Experiment on Success - 02/28/08 11:53 PM
Ok.... so this is going to sound a bit strange maybe... but I am starting an Experiment on Success. Let me explain..... For those of you who have been getting to know me or have read my posts, you will know that I am a Loan Officer. We have all been reading the posts and watching the news about the unstableness of the Mortgage arena. I have worked in the Mortgage business on and off for the past three years and have always been uneasy about the future of the companies I had worked for, being they were all independantly owned. Well, yesterday I (5 comments)
In my effort to Pay It Forward whenever I can, I am writing to give a shout out to someone who I will refer to as "The Epitome of a Friend", Jason Crouch. Please go check out Jasons Blog about his friend David`s battle with cancer and how he is trying to do his part to make a difference. http://activerain.com/blogsview/399577/Trying-to-help-my I had the pleasure of speaking with Jason today after reading his blog for awhile now. I was totally impressed and moved by his love for his friend and mentor. Being a Colon Cancer Survivor myself, I understand the difference it makes to know (12 comments)

If you are thinking about getting one of those LOANS BY PHONE.... JUST SAY NO!!!!! You know the ones I am talking about, you get their mailers, see their commercials, or get the phone calls. They promise you will quailfy for a huge loan, with 5.75% interest on a 30 year fixed with NO CLOSING COSTS, NO CLOSING FEES, NO MONEY DOWN..... blah blah blah... AND.... that they will get it closed in 2 weeks! I have heard horror stories and seen things happen that really cost customers a ton of money. How the Federal Rate cuts effect Mortgage Rates - 02/25/08 09:41 AM
This is the best article I have ever read on how the Federal Rate cuts effect Mortgage rates. So many people are misinformed about this and it ends up being very costly to buyers who are holding out for a better rate. Read this example of how this played out for Mike Gambino in his post "I`m Not Closing" Smart Mortgage Strategies After the Fed Cut by Chris KissellWednesday, January 30, 2008 As you listen to news reports about the Federal Reserve's latest rate cut, Bob Walters would like you to keep one thing in mind. "Ninety percent of the media is getting this dead wrong," says (1 comments)
Heavenly.... just simply heavenly.... - 02/24/08 02:33 PM
This is a new topic I am going to start implementing into my blogs. I will feature new and unique businesses in and around Fort Smith, Van Buren, Barling, Greenwood, Alma and surrounding areas. My goal here is to showcase these businesses and to help get the word out into the community to help create new awareness and more business. I will not gain from promoting these businesses. This is just my way of sharing gems in our community with others. For my 1st spotlight business I came across this very unique business for expecting parents. It is called Heavenly Images. They take advanced (4 comments)
Trip to Baldwin City - 02/23/08 09:18 PM
Well, we just returned home from Baldwin City Kansas where my son is going to attend Baker University in the fall. (see my post on the subject here) We had to attend a Scholarship Day for him to be able to receive more money. It was a beautiful trip even though the weather was terrible. It was a cold 24 degrees and overcast and windy. Then on the way home it rained. I hate driving in the rain. But all in all it was a great overnight trip, shared with my two sons. Sharing a 5 hour drive one way in a (1 comments)
I wont do it!!!!! - 02/21/08 09:33 AM
I REFUSE!!!! I am drawing a line in the sand..... I will not buy into the idea that the market stinks and nobody is making any money and I am at the will of others. NO!!!!! I refuse to believe it! I challenge each and every one of you to make that choice as well. Just be persistent and dont give up! Instead, choose to believe that there is more business out there than you can say Grace over and it is coming my way! Choose to take daily actions consistent with that belief. We already have what it takes to persist. The dictionary defines persistence as "the (10 comments)
The verdict is in! - 02/20/08 12:32 AM
So it is final..... my son Alan will going to Baker University in Baldwin City Kansas to attend college in August. I am so happy and yet so sad. I have three children and this one is my middle child, oldest son. He just turned 18 and he has been awarded a scholarship to play football and get his education!!!!!! I am one PROUD MOM! With the departure of Alan (handsome son above), I will be left with one more at home and then I will be an empty nester!!! Yikes... am I really getting to be that age already? I sure don't (7 comments)
I have been around in the sales game for what seems like an eternity. I went from Radio Advertising and Marketing in to the Mortgage Business. I finally found what makes me want to get up in the morning and get to work! I love helping people realize their dreams of owning a home. But for the life of me...... there is one thing about being in the service business that completely has me bum-fuddled..... What happened to some peoples common courtesy??? Let me give you an example..... I used to be in Radio sales. Part of my job was cold calling on businesses. (5 comments)
Change What Needs Changing, Not what’s Easy - 02/18/08 11:09 AM
The other day I came across this amazing exert from a new little book. All of us are in the people business.... We are service providers. This article brings to our attention the value of listening, doing our homework, and putting the customer or potential customer first. I hope you find value in this and I challenge you to look at your interactions with those you come in contact with and see where you might rate in the department of customer service! (An excerpt from Change is Good...You Go First)
A few years ago, British Rail had a real fall-off in business. Looking (1 comments)
The Tides are Changing- Cross Selling is here - 02/16/08 07:45 PM
If you are a Realtor thinking about becoming a Loan Officer.... this article is for you. There are so many different opinions on this subject. I have found that most people have just that.... an opinion. They don't take the time to really do their homework and learn the facts. We have all heard the old cliche` "Perception is Reality". Your truth may not be the same as my truth but none the less it is our truth with the facts we have. Take this example of an exercise I did while taking a course at Landmark Education. The leader had two people in (0 comments)
