Optimizing Your Text for BackPage and Craigslist - 06/17/09 01:04 PM
I posted this blog last night (late) and not too many people saw it (see link below) - so instead of updating the blog with new content, I am posting Part II "Pimping Your Text for BackPage and Craigslist" so more people can see both the old /new the tips and hopefully learn something about posting to eClassifieds. (http://activerain.com/blogsview/1118309/eclassifieds-10-tips-to-post-ads-effectively-on-craigslist-kijiji-backpage-and-others) Don't think like an agent - think like a buyer! What quick info are they looking for? (these are pulled from today's CL real estate for sale section - names changed to protect the innocent!) Do any of these ads below grab your attention? I posted a few jobs today on Elance today (freelance website) - hit submit and done with it for the day. SO I THOUGHT! I opened up my TweetDeck tonight AND THERE I AM! I have my keywords to search all Tweets for "real estate marketing" and the 3rd Tweet done is me (3rd column from left - 3rd tweet down)! [Elance tweets the jobs to Twitter and my search picked it up.] TweetDeck allows you to Follow people on Twitter Follow friends on Facebook Search all Tweets on keywords you specify See what people are saying about particular stocks and more! You Have 5 Seconds to Impress Me or I am Outta Here! (Is Your Site Converting Visitors?) - 06/16/09 06:28 PM
Statistics show that visitors on a website will give it a "once over" for about 5 seconds to determine If they can easily navigate your site If the information they are looking for is on the page / relevant content FIVE SECONDS! That's it - - - that's not a lot of time for a making a lot of mental notes. If they are gone without clicking on other links they are a "bounce" and you have a problem. Think about your Website as a home you are helping the owners getting ready to have photographed. Does the house look cluttered? Do (4 comments)
Point2Agent Web Site Users - - - Which "Enhancements" Do You Use & Do They Benefit You? - 06/16/09 05:46 PM
I love Point2Agent, it's one of my favorite sites for agents to use. I have several clients who use the $9.95 a month version and a few others that use the $49.95 a month. I have a few questions and am hoping to lean on you guys for some honest input (not that you get anything different from ActiveRain users, oh yea, I LOVE AR too!)
Which paid version do you use? Have you purchased any neighborhoods? If you have purchased neighboorhoods, did you see an increase in leads? What enhancements have you added that you have seen an increase (2 comments)
How Many Blogs Do You Maintain - Is AR Your Only One? - 06/14/09 11:51 PM
Just out of curiousity, how many blogs do you maintain other than your Active Rain blog? if you have others, which sites do you use to host them? which site(s) do you like the best for functionality / ease of use if you do searches with search engines - which comes up first (if you are posting duplicate content)? "I 'm all out of blog, I'm so lost without you" - 06/14/09 10:36 PM
It's been a little crazy trying to get ready for my visitors who are coming for 2 weeks. I have been on Active Rain putzing around but haven't written a lot of worthwhile content this week. I feel bad - I miss it - I feel like I haven't helped someone else. I AM SO LOST! And now, as I sit here on a Sunday night I am trying to figure out WHAT I can post something about that will actually help someone...and I can't. My eyes are looking at the pictures that need to go on the wall, the laundry (3 comments)

I received this email this afternoon from Google regarding the Google Local Business Center (see an old article on my blog about adding your business at http://activerain.com/blogsview/1094542/add-your-business-to-google): We are writing to let you know about an important update to your Google Local Business Center account (log in at www.google.com/lbc). HubPages...More Google Juice for Your Morning - Are You Getting Yours? - 06/10/09 08:54 AM
How many of you have heard of HubPages? How many are you using it? I signed up a while back because "it was the thing to do," along with Squiddo. I must admit I never used the accounts for more than a few days, got bored and moved on to something else I found that cooler. After talking to a friend of mine who swears by it, I decided to give it another chance. Reasons why it has the cool factor for me now: So far I have found it easy to use I can add my Google AdSense account information (3 comments)
80% off Restaurant.com Dining Certificates - Eat Cheap & Share With Others - 06/09/09 10:07 AM
Earlier I posted that your blog content is worthless unless you spread your valuable information with more than ActiveRain and Web surfers. (http://activerain.com/blogsview/1101810/your-blog-content-is-worthless-) My suggestion was to send select information to your database as a "touch" to keep in contact with them. Other information I suggested to send with it was online discounts - below is one I received today that I am sharing with you - I hope they are in your area. (The code is PRESENT)

Speechless Sunday - - - Get Off The Computer and Go to the Library! - 06/07/09 11:16 AM
I woke up this morning after reading a few books last night I just bought on Amazon. Even though I love the Internet, I still want something in my hands if I am reading to learn. When my marketing magazines and journals arrive I can't wait to rip of the covers and dig into them!
So, I challenge you to go to the library and check out a "how to" book or a book about a topic that you have been wondering about that will help your business! I am going when the kids wake up and will post (2 comments)

Marketing Regular Sale vs. Short Sale vs. Bank Owned - 06/05/09 05:08 PM
The current market has created "options" for buyers - regular sales, short sales and bank owned properties. Has this new market changed how you market your listings and business? Do you find that you market each property "type" based on what type of sale they are? A regular sale gets more attention because you have a seller to answer to? A bank owned is marketed more because it's the hot item in your area? You are marketing less because it's a buyer's market? What are you selling and how are you marketing your properties different than you did 1 year ago? 3 years? (0 comments)
Your Blog Content is Worthless! - 06/04/09 10:28 AM
Many agents on ActiveRain blog almost daily about various topics, press "Post Blog Entry" and you are done for the day. STOP! Take it to the next level - - - use this valuable information to send to select SOI and past clients who you think would be interested in receiving this information. More posts are appearing regarding the pros and cons of working via a virtual office. Is it the new wave of the future? Is it the short solution for the current economy? If you are not your own broker, do the benefits really outweigh sitting in an office? These questions have been posted through ActiveRain but I haven't seen much talk about the benefit of outsourcing your support staff. You probably don't need a full-time person to help you with your miscellaneous tasks to run your business - maybe just a few hours a week. You've heard of hiring "virtual (2 comments)

Are You a Doctor or a Real Estate Agent? - 06/01/09 09:07 AM
In my previous life I worked with the marketing of medical education, a lot of the doctors had so many designations we had to limit them to fit in our marketing materials. Some of the physicians understood but others took it as a personal attack of their work to achieve the designation with various medical societies and insisted that they all be included. As a real estate agent, you have your NAR accredited designations, REO designations are popping up from everywhere that some asset managers require of you, luxury designation from various institutes and groups, and on and on and on. You too, (30 comments)
