Southern Living's annual Readers' Choice Awards, which reflect the view of the magazine's 47,000 readers, announced for 2008 that Myrtle Beach is second only to Walt Disney World as a family vacation destination.

Depending on where you live, you've probably had some spectacular days to remind you of what's in store over the next few months. Meanwhile, your home is in need of some TLC this month, so let's get right to it. Since we received such a positive response to last month's top five list, we're doing it again:

Here in Myrtle Beach, we are fortunate to have the Intracoastal Waterway as an alternative route for nautical transportation. The ICW traverses the east coast of the United States from Texas to Main. It is calm, has a tidal variation of between 2-5' depending on the location, and is home to various shops, restaurants, marinas, and easy outlets to the Atlantic Ocean.

Although the oceanfront amusement park landmark is no more, several of its rides have a new home at Broadway at the Beach, near Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.
