princeton nj real estate home sellers: Princeton NJ real estate questions? Should you ask real estate agent? - 12/15/07 08:39 AM
What is my house worth in Princeton? What is my house worth in Hopewell? Should I sell now or wait till spring? Where is the real estate market going?  I have yet to meet a person who is not interested in real estate. We are talking about home values at cocktail parties, go to the neighbors' open houses, look for home values on Trulia. Why is that? In his book "House Lust: American's Obsession with Our Homes" - Daniel McGinn (Doubleday, 2007) suggests that the reason is our lack of community and isolation. To me the answer is the fact that … (9 comments)

How can you tell what’s truth in the Princeton real estate marketing or for that matter any marketing at all? Did you ever try the detergents that promise to take all the stains out, or those miracle creams that erase the wrinkles in front of your eyes? Did you ever write or respond to a personal ad? I was writing this post, when in the middle of it I read the excellent post by Jeff Dowler, which if you didn’t read it yet, make sure you do. His topic in some way related to mine. Jeff Belonger also wrote an interesting … (93 comments)

princeton nj real estate home sellers: Ten reasons real estate clients want to pay more to the agent - 11/13/07 02:05 AM
Why should any real estate buyer or seller want to pay more to their agent? Isn’t it exactly the opposite of what clients want: pay less or not pay at all? Here is the two word answer: Ritz Carlton. Do not read further if you as a real estate client do not want “Ritz Carlton treatment” or if you are an agent who is not interested in providing it.What do I mean by Ritz Carlton treatment? I just stayed at the Ritz Carlton Battery Park in New York - it was expensive and worth every penny I paid. Let me give … (144 comments)

princeton nj real estate home sellers: Princeton NJ Real Estate - Buy, Sell or Stay? - 09/02/07 02:00 PM
Why do people sell their homes? The question came to mind while I was reading an article in the “O AT HOME – an Oprah Magazine” . It describes how a seller changed her mind about selling the home after it was staged for sale. The article goes on to say, that she liked the new look and decided to stay put after one sale fell through. Needless to say - the real estate agent did not get paid. It made me think that sellers, buyers and agents need to better understand why they want to sell or buy.  It’s not … (3 comments)

I get asked this question many times a day. We all want to know how and if the turmoil and uncertainty of the broader markets affect our local real estate market.
