Silent Saturday: Winter walk on Brooklyn NY Beaches by Feng Shui LI

Brisk! is how describe the New York temperature this weekend.  After a Feng Shui consultation in Brooklyn NY, Laura Cerrano of Feng Shui Manhattan stopped off at one of the local beaches and captured a photo of a mother and her son walking along the shore line.

speechless Sunday: Still before the Storm by LI Feng Shui consultant Laura Cerrano

Feng Shui Long Island NYC consultant Laura Cerrano was taking a walk around the Norman J. Levy Park in Merrick NY the other day and witnesses an amazing scene.  Capturing the clouds before they opened up, you can call Laura a bit of a storm chaser :) The color of these clouds against the green is so beautiful with the off white shelled pathway.
Just beautiful :)

new york: Say WHAT? You missed the New York City RainCamp? by a Feng Shui NY Consultant - 01/15/10 10:30 PM
So did I : (  I couldn't go and I couldn't be sorrier that I missed it.  Fortunately, my daughter Laura Cerrano didn't.  She got to go learn and PLAY and she is STILL talking about it.  She put up a blog but could not post her photos of Raincamp 2010 from her new computer....so here they are.
For a few years she has wondered what my facination with Activerain was/is.  Now she's experienced it first hand---and she's hooked!  WARNING:  Attending one Activerain Camp won't be enough.  You'll want more...and then a little more.
These are some HAPPY CAMPERS!

new york: Amityville Horror House? With Club Chaos Eye Candy?? - 05/02/09 10:17 PM

Amityville Horror House—Club Chaos Eye Candy?
Landmarks?  Local History?  I’d have to say for me, Amityville is Hyper-Local…it’s the very next town from where I live.  It’s the “Eye Candy” I’m not too sure about.  I mean there are not many people that aren’t aware of what happened in the town of Amityville, Long Island.  Interestingly enough, there were some facts even I didn’t know.
So far there have been at least 9 books and three movies done about The Amityville “Horror House.”  December 13, 1974 that Ronald DeFeo killed his family of four siblings and his mother and father … (38 comments)

new york: Holiday Acceptance--- All Year Through - 12/15/08 08:18 PM
 Holiday Acceptance All Year Long
New York is a land of cultural diversity.  We are the "melting pot" from people all over the world and I'd always loved hearing and learning about different traditions, celebrations, articles of clothing, beliefs and the diversity of so many people that all seem to be so different yet are more alike then we ever may have imagined.

I was very fortunate to grow up in a home where the door was always open.  Especially during the holidays, neighbors, family and friends always managed to converge here.  With my father having served in the … (27 comments)

new york: One of the Saddest Days of the Year in Manhattan & Around the World by Feng Shui Long Island - 09/10/08 09:29 PM
This is the one day out of the entire year that is the most difficult for me.  Living in New York and loving New York City I am, as SO many others still devastated by the losses of 9/11/2001.  Loss of life, of course--many, many wonderful lives and a feeling of loss of Freedom.  Since that day when traveling to New York City for a Feng Shui Consultation you can see all the uniforms at Penn Station which is somehow a sight I never get used to.
There are cutbacks now as well on our Security but I have always wondered … (17 comments)

Farmingdale, Long Island, New York---Then and Now
**The OLD days of Long Island....Wide Open Spaces, here a Nursery
As a 30 year resident of this town, I've been here longer then our new Mayor...For anyone familiar with Long Island, I moved all the way from Wantagh (The Gateway to Jones Beach) to arrive at what I consider the exact middle of Long Island...Farmingdale.  We are neither the prestigious North Shore nor the trendy South Shore but are right in the middle, bordering two Counties, Nassau and Suffolk.

new york: Fun at The Fair: Bellmore, Long Island, New York/A Feng Shui Consultants' Play Time! - 10/03/07 10:50 PM
I love this time of year for it's wonderful fairs and festivals all over Long Island, New York.  I go to as many as I can and you can find many of them in all different towns.  One fair I never miss is a wonderful Fair in Bellmore, Long Island.  They have some amazing Handmade Crafts, rides (yes, I still like them :) and of course, good food.  Bellmore is a lovely little town and it's quite progressive which is one of the things I love about it.  It has a variety of old time stores mixed with the new as … (20 comments)

new york: Earth Angels---How Many have YOU run across?? - 08/23/07 10:50 PM
How many "Earth Angels"  have you come across?  You know, those wonderful people that seem to come out of nowhere when you're lost, stuck or just need some help.  They are disguised as all kinds of "people" but I never end up thinking of them that way when all is said and done; to me they are Earth Angels who will be remembered by you long after they've forgotten all about what they did for you.
I wanted to share a little more of my trip and to tell you about one particular Earth Angel that I came across; this one was … (20 comments)

new york: Can You STAND another Feng Shui Post? You've seen the Auspicious Goat, LQQK at The Auspicious PUMPKINS in Northport, Long Island, New York - 08/01/07 05:21 PM
If you've been following my posts, you've seen the Feng Shui Synchronicity occuring these days in Northport, Long Island, New York.  In one post I told about my clients appeared to have been frightened by the changes occuring after a Feng Shui Consultation.  In a subsequent post I told that I had received an email the following morning that the woman who had written the Book, The Auspicious Goat, had read my post and MET MY CLIENT FOR THE FIRST TIME THE VERY DAY I HAD BEEN THERE.
While I do not know the entire story of the Auspicious Goat, I do … (12 comments)

new york: Feng Shui Synchronicity at Work---Back to Northport, Long Island - 07/19/07 09:51 PM
I should be used to these types of things by now, that is if you can ever really GET used to them.  They happen often enough in my life and still astound me.  A recent blog post and the things that have happened in just the last few days make me always remember that something much more powerful then ourselves are at work at times.  This is one of those times.
A recent blog I posted Scared Away with Feng Shui? How I "lost" my client in Northport, Long Island New York was about the fact that I hadn't heard from this … (19 comments)

new york: A Feng Shui Haunting in Beautiful Huntington, Long Island? Or Something ELSE? - 07/10/07 07:46 PM
All of my posts are about actual events with my clients.  This one is difficult to tell; it is long and it was a powerful lesson to me of something I had never seen or heard of before.
I have been thinking recently and reading  A New Blog: Haunted Real Estate   a post by Mary Pope_Handy       and have visited her website many times in the past http://www.hauntedhouses.com/ when I was researching something or trying to find information about a particular type of haunting.  I didn't know it was hers until recently and didn't know she was on Activerain.
I did a Feng Shui consultation last … (14 comments)

new york: A Feng Shui TEST: Can you help this place in Dix Hills, Long Island?? - 07/07/07 10:57 PM
To my fellow Activerainers, a true Feng Shui Test for you.  These are real pictures of a place requesting Feng Shui Help in Dix Hills, Long Island. I would love to hear some comments on what YOU would do to this space either in Feng Shui, Decorating or both.
Here's the background and then some pictures:  This is a non-profit, high functioning adult residence home located in Dix Hills, Long Island, New York.  I was emailed several months ago for help but after completing the project last year I felt I couldn't take it on.  This place is unable to keep staff, I was … (15 comments)

new york: Spectacular FIRE ISLAND, Long Island, New York: I believe they've already used Feng Shui Here! - 07/04/07 09:37 PM
Ah, back to my regularly scheduled posts!  Phyllis mentioned in a comment that I have been to many places this year and gotten to see many things and she's right, I have been SO fortunate to get called for Feng Shui Consultations from from all over.  Now I'm traveling by Ferry and it was a first :)  This post is more about pictures because you have to SEE Fire Island to believe it but it is an incredible place.
Fire Island is divided into different areas.  And there are NO CARS ALLOWED!  Two of the areas I visited recently were Ocean Beach (the unofficial … (19 comments)

new york: A TREASURE found on Long Island---The "Gold Coast" of Oyster Bay - 06/17/07 10:18 PM
After having been on a few Feng Shui consultations recently on the North Shore of Long Island (which I now LOVE!), I wasn't surprised to hear from a client in Laurel Hollow in Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York. She had recently began working with Reiki and was working very much with Energy.  She is the owner of a lovely place she conceived of and opened three years ago and they were already preparing to move to a larger space; prior to the move she was having a difficult time figuring out her furniture placement and working with Feng Shui which … (9 comments)

new york: Jones Beach, Long Island, New York---Nothing like it in the World! - 06/10/07 09:42 AM
I grew up at Jones Beach.  We lived in Wantagh, Long Island (my mother still lives there) and the sign by our house calls it The Gateway to Jones Beach.  I had some time the other day and it was beautiful and sunny out--a perfect day for the beach (or so I thought).  I headed out with my daughter for our first trip this year and the drive alone is lovely.  When you get close to the water and can see and smell the salt air it feels so different from only a 15 minute drive away!
For some reason the beach … (7 comments)

new york: What's in the HEART of Your Home? UPDATED! A Feng Shui Home in Pictures..... - 06/08/07 05:52 AM
I wanted to show some pictures of an absolutely beautiful home I consulted on the other day.  The woman contacted me through a series of events:  She had recently watched "The Secret" and saw a Feng Shui consultant on there and was very in tune with the principles of the entire show.  That same week she went to her beauty salon and knew it was in a new location.  She loved the look of the salon and heard that it had been used with Feng Shui principles.  Unable to locate the owners to find out who had done it, she did … (37 comments)

new york: Where are the HORSES? Long Island's old Charms Feng Shui in Bellmore, Long Island - 06/03/07 08:46 PM
Growing up on Long Island, one of my favorite things to do on a weekend was going to the Flea Market.  Roosevelt Field in Westbury, Long Island was there for many years (prior to that it was for Horse Racing!), then used for a time for Concerts---of which I went to also.  The place was so big and while some of the vendors were there every week, the others changed often so you never knew what bargain you were going to find.
I miss it, it long ago moved away and what they call Flea Markets now are really inside malls with … (4 comments)
