nyc: Stand up for Science! Show Your Support by Marching April 22nd, 2017 - 04/13/17 05:18 AM
The March for Science and stands up to support and safeguard the scientific community. Recent policy changes have caused heightened worry among scientists. The incredible and immediate outpouring of support has made clear that these concerns are also shared by the support of hundreds of thousands of people around the world.Knowledge is power and science is one of many avenues to peacefully empower people to help positivity transform the world collectively. It is time for people who support scientific research and evidence-based policies to take a public stand and be counted.

nyc: New York City Is Rebuilding - 09/11/16 12:37 PM

There are not many words that could be said about this date. For me, showing images of NYC being rebuilt and looking better then ever, is says more then enough. Sending prayers of peace, love and healing to all of NYC and really the entire world. Change needs to happen, and very soon.

nyc: Loving Central Park In New York City During The Summer Time - 07/31/16 05:06 AM

In between a NYC feng shui consultation from Tribeca to Madison Ave, I stopped off in Central Park to enjoy lunch and take in some fun people watching time. Next to me, I was serenaded by two guitar players and enjoyed just being present and taking in a few moments of stillness from the hustle and bustle energy of New York City.

nyc: NYC Subways Could Still Offer A Pleasant Commute - 06/19/16 12:38 AM

I was checking out the Hearst Building in NYC after providing a Feng Shui walking tour and decided to take the subway near by back to Penn Station. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw and smelled. That right, even the smell counts. NYC subways system's are known for their funk (especially in the summer time).
This subway descent was enjoyable because I was greeted with the aroma of food and colorful walls, floors and even artwork along the ceiling. The lighting was also a great enhancer for the energy flow. It would be great to see all the subway systems have this type of presentation for commuters.
Besides that, the New … (2 comments)

nyc: Sangenario Feast 2015 NYC! - 09/20/15 10:15 AM

This year has been by far the most packed I have ever seen and experienced when attending the Sangenario Feast. It felt like new years all over again. With so many food venues to choose from, drinks and various games to play, lower Manhattan felt like a huge party on the streets of Little Italy.

The 89th Annual Feast of San Gennaro will be held in Little Italy for 11 days from Thursday, September 10, through Sunday, September 20, 2015, on the streets of historic Little Italy, the lower Manhattan neighborhood which served as the first home in America for hundreds of thousands … (2 comments)

nyc: Honoring Those Who Have Passed Away On 9/11 - 09/11/15 09:31 AM

(Photo: Ben Sturner/@leverageagency)
The day before New York City's 13th year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, New Yorker's were blessed with an rainbow sighting where the Twin Towers once stood. What could that mean?
For me, it references a sign of healing for the families deeply impacted and souls that were lost. Perhaps grieving is transforming into acceptance, compassion, and allowing the city and country to progress forward, while always honoring this day that forever changed the world.

Blessing and prayers of peace and love to everyone.

Exploring Central Park In New York City During The Spring Time

Who doesn't love New York City during the Spring Time?! I'll admit, usually I am in a mad dash to get out  of NYC after a consultation or event, but when Spring comes around and the temperature is at a perfect 75, trees are blooming and NYC has a peaceful atmosphere, I am more then happy to kick around. After the Feng Shui Tour I provided, I wondered into Central park.
I had no agenda but to just relax and enjoy. I treated myself to some mild rock climbing on the "Big Rock."
Some of the local children found a new way to get down the rock by riding it … (12 comments)

Exploring New York City at Night

metlife building

Yesterday was some day, busy, busy, go, go, go. Many times I will have clients say, I never have time to just be, to just enjoy-I’m always too busy.

You have the choice to make time and take one or two moments. I decided instead of riding the subway I would treat myself to a mini walking tour yesterday evening. My day started at around 35th street for a workshop and than making my way to 56th street for meditation class. Here are some photos I took in along the … (5 comments)

September 17th Occupy Wall Street will be Holding Rallies in NYC...

We are all witnesses to the lies and mis-leading information provided by top officials who are supposed to be protecting our rights. Here is another truth that is coming to the surface.
1. A "free trade" agreement that would set rules on non-trade matters such as food safety, internet freedom, medicine costs, financial regulation, and the environment.    2. A binding international governance system that would require the United States, Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Vietnam, and any other country that signs on to conform their domestic policies to … (0 comments)

nyc: Mother Earth is one of our best teachers in life...... - 04/23/13 11:58 AM
Mother Earth is one of our best teachers in life, if we would just pay attention

While hiking along the Cold Spring Harbor Trail View path I came across this beautiful vibrant flower sprouting from out of dead tree trunk.   What captured my attention was not necessarily the colors of this flower but the symbolism of what I was seeing.  The tree was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy yet as with everything on Mother Earth, new life will always persist.  If you have the will, you will find a way.  If a flower has the strength to overcome, so do … (5 comments)

nyc: Cleaning your Toilet with the same product you Drink...hmmmm? - 04/21/13 08:34 PM

Remember, you are what you eat and drink.  Take the product of coke/soda.  Yes it can be fun to drink because there are various flavors and it offers a unique fizzle sensation as it travels down your throat.
But no matter what, soda is full of chemicals, so much that one can use this product to clean their toilet bowl if needed.  That's right, soda can be used to clean your toilet bowl.  So now think about this....
If soda can clean your toilet bowl, then what is it doing to the inside of your body if you are … (2 comments)

One of many goals Feng Shui has in store for all who utilize this 6,000 year old ancient practice is to bring awareness to the fact that energy is all around you.   Every thought and action creates the pathway for tomorrow with opportunities, events and people that come into your life.  As you develop this new found awareness you are no longer allowed to make excuses.  In finding this awareness, your responsibly to self, the way you interact towards others and this world in general has … (3 comments)

Beautiful Brooklyn New York views by Feng Shui Manhattan

This past Sunday I joined good friends in Brooklyn New York for a day of art, but before hand, we caught some awesome views of the Brooklyn skyline. Looking straight ahead is a view of NYC.

Do you see what I see in this photo??

In this photo you can see the dome of the Brooklyn Museum.  It's far in the distance, in the middle of the photo.

Visiting the 911 Memorial in Lower Manhattan NYC with Feng Shui consultant Laura Cerrano

911 Memorial for the Twin towers that fell on September 11th, 2001
For years the public argued with how to honor those who passed away on 9/11.  there is probably no right way to honor them, but acknowledging them how ever is the best way.  I visited the 9/11 memorial yesterday with friends and I have to say the memorial was done in a very tasteful way.
The artist was very much inspired by the Vietnam Memorial Wall which is located in Washington D.C.  The … (2 comments)

Exploring New York city with Feng Shui Manhattan: Sidewalk artist in Herald Square

Sidewalk artist creating image in New York city
You never know what you'll find or come across when walking the streets of New York City.  On Laura Cerrano's way two her second Feng Shui consultation today, she came across a local sidewalk artist.  You can say this is somewhat performance art as well, for he welcomes people to watch as he creates :)

You'll notice the cameras on both sides of the artist, they are capturing his every move so once completed he speeds up the … (6 comments)

Bringing closure for 9/11 the World Trade Center by laura Cerrano Feng Shui NYC
9/11 is upon us.  It is a day that has truly changed and rocked the perspective of many when it comes to living and viewing the meaning of life. It is almost like the peak of spiritual disconnection.  Usually the only way to grab our attention is when something dramatic and devastating happens, sad but true.  We like to wait till the very last straw is drawn.
Why does Ms. Cerrano say this?  Since 9/11 many started to reach out and search for ways to reconnect to … (5 comments)
