Aaahhhh…the freedom of purple walls! Finding myself with a couple of extra days on my hands, enjoying the peace and beautiful Fall weather, I thought about how grateful I am to be a homeowner in Leander TX – and that I could once again paint our room my favorite shade of purple. I’ve been asked this question several times this past week, what now? It has been 9 years since the Feds raised the Federal Funds Rate. Extraordinary times, extraordinary circumstances, extraordinary measures. Interest rates have been held down so much longer than many of us anticipated they would be while we clawed our way out of the housing/economic crisis. In mortgage industry minds, it has been a question of when the Feds would raise the interest rates, not if. Turns out when was 12/17/2015. What now? I’m so excited! Not only is Independence Day a holiday I really enjoy celebrating, but summer is peak home buying season in many markets. As a lender, this makes me smile. As a boomerang buyer, it makes me grin ear to ear!
There are a lot of predictions of the number of home buyers re-entering the market after being affected by the housing crisis. Predictions, because this crisis left a bad taste in the mouths of many of those affected. Settling in to the Hill Country of Central Texas, after putting in a full week in the Mortgage World helping homeowners refinance into some great loan products, it sure is fun to get out and explore. From the blue bonnets blooming along with the spring time wild flowers in the countryside to the Pedernales River near Dripping Springs,
to the many fun activities in Downtown Austin
the weekends are flying by as fast as the work week!
