February 2011 home sales trends for Ft. Worth/Arlington/NE Tarrant County are out and it looks like it was a tough month for the area.  The charts and graphs that you see below are a summary of activity between Ft. Worth/Arlington/NE Tarrant County.  They are weighted averages and in February - Ft. Worth represented approximately 45% of the unit volume with Arlington at 22% and NE Tarrant County at 33%.
There were 942 homes sold in Ft. Worth in February 2011 as compared with 1,265 sold during February 2010.  The average sales price was $165,000 and the is a 6.5 month supply … (0 comments)

January 2011 home sales numbers are out for Ft. Worth and it looks like it was a tough month.  The numbers below are a roll-up of data from Ft. Worth, Arlington and Northeast Tarrant County. The numbers are weighted across all three data sets and Ft. Worth proper represents around 44% of the numbers.
There were 1,220 homes sold in January 2011 as compared with 1,913 sold in January 2010.  The average sales price is up to $177,600 and average months of available inventory is 6.7.

December home sales numbers are in for Ft. Worth and surrounding areas and it looks like a fairly solid year.  The numbers below are a roll-up of data from Ft. Worth, Arlington and Northeast Tarrant County.  The numbers are weighted across all three data sets and Ft. Worth proper represents around 44% of the numbers.
There were 1,296 homes sold in December which was down from 1,452 in December 2009.  However, the average sales price sharply increased to $185,000.  Available months of inventory also ticked up to 6.2 months which is still considered to be a healthy number.

ft worth: Tarrant County Tops in Texas for Natural Gas - 01/18/11 08:27 AM
The Texas Railroad Commission - which oversees oil & natural gas production in Texas - has released its October 2010 production numbers and Tarrant County is the largest producer of natural gas in the entire state of Texas!  The natural gas produced in Tarrant County/Ft. Worth area is from the Barnett Shale - which is one of the largest natural gas deposits in the United States.
There are 3,237 natural gas wells in Tarrant County producing 55.3 billion cubic feet of gas.  The three largest individual well owners are XTO with 1,042, Chesapeake with 842 and Devon with 514 wells.

I have charted up some monthly and historical data regarding homes sales trends in Ft. Worth. This data is a roll-up of information for Ft. Worth, Arlington and NE Tarrant County, so you can have an overview of home sales trends for Tarrant County. The average sales price and months of inventory numbers are weighted averages across the three data sets.  Ft. Worth proper accounts for about 44% of the total unit sales - with the other two areas splitting the difference.

ft worth: Fort Worth adds 3,600 Jobs in October 2010 - 11/29/10 05:04 AM
The Texas Workforce Commission has released its October 2010 snapshot of employment activity in the Ft. Worth/Arlington MSA and the news is good.  The area added 3,600 jobs in October as compared with September 2010 and added a total of 8.200 jobs as compared with October 2009.  This brings the area's total employment up to roughly 853,000 jobs.
The leading employment sectors are:
-  Trade, Transportation & Utilities with 197,000 jobs
-  Government with 128,000 jobs
-  Education and Health Services with 109,000
-  Professional and Business Services with 93,000
