Via Margaret Oscilia-Home Stager, Salem Oregon (Creative Concepts and Contracting, Salem Oregon):
Dear Creative Concepts:
I’d appreciate some home staging advice.  After watching some additional home improvement shows yesterday, I’m wondering if  I am too bland in my approach to colors for the broader market?  I long ago accepted the concept of going with neutral colors, but many of the television designers seem to consider some pretty bold colors as “neutral colors”.

Laminate Flooring. When does it make sense? - 07/26/10 08:44 AM

Via Debbie Gartner - Floor Coverings International (Floor Coverings International):

• Laminate - This is fake.  It usually looks like hardwood (but some are made to look like tile).  These floors click into place and are usually floated.  Often, they can be placed on top of an existing floor without needing to remove it.  These are made with recycled wood that is left over in … (2 comments)

Via Kathy Streib, ASP,IAHSP,RESA, DelrayBch -South Florida - 561-914-6224 (Room Service Home Staging):
You hear about Curb Appeal when selling or buying a house, but what is it and how do you get it? Does it means the house has nice curbs?  Well, that's a good start  but Curb Appeal to the buyer means that when they see a picture of your exterior on the MLS, a mental "check mark" is placed by your listing.     Curb Appeal means that when  a Buyer drives by … (0 comments)

Want More Money For Your House? Lower Your Price. - 07/07/10 08:47 AM
Why over priced listings don't sell and under price listings sell for more
Via J. Philip Faranda (J. Philip LLC) Westchester County NY:
Every so often, I have a listing celebrate an anniversary. I hate anniversaries. No broker wants to have a listing that doesn't sell for a year. Every year-old listing has a story of old offers they regret not accepting and a journey of chasing the market. Recently, I had a year-old client dismiss my recommendation of a price reduction with the words "you just want to make a sale." Well, duh. That's what you hired me for, isn't it? The … (1 comments)
