Virginia Landlord - 1099 landlord reporting law repealed - 04/26/11 12:40 PM
Congress passed legislation that repeals a provision in the small business legislation enacted last year that requires landlords to report any work done on investment properties totaling $600 or more, and to provide 1099 forms to vendors that provided the services.
Realtors® fought against this provision,
Arguing that the amount of paperwork generated would be onerous to landlords and any real estate practitioners employed by landlords. Lawmakers finally agreed that the provision was an example of overreach by Congress that was not intended to burden small property owners and managers.

March Signed Contracts Jump 34.3% Over February; Median Sales Price Rises 3.2% Year‐Over‐Year OVERVIEW: Pending home sales jumped 34.3% month‐over‐month as the Washington, DC metro area entered the “spring market” with 5,432 signed contracts, the highest number for the month of March since 2006. The March total exceeded the federal home buyers tax credit‐fueled total reached in the same month last year. With three consecutive months of increased pending sales activity, median sales price showed a seasonal increase of 6.7%, the first month‐over‐month increase since last October.
