(Not So) Wordless Wednesday... - 07/29/09 05:59 AM
Wordless Wednesday - Well kinda sorta... Wow! Wednesday already? Boy, time sure flies when you are having fun... We are having fun aren't we? Now I don't know about you, but I think that it is kinda fun to make money - and lots of it!!! Here is hoping for a prosperous Wednesday for all my fellow ActiveRain colleagues...
Have a great hump day, Y'all... 8-) If you or someone you know is purchasing or listing a home in Brentwood, Franklin, Nashville, Spring Hill or Thompson's Station in the Davidson or Williamson county area of Middle Tennessee and would like … (23 comments)

What Excuses Are You Making for Yourself? - 07/28/09 06:37 AM
Thoughts for Tuesday - My 2¢ worth... Depending upon where you are in this great Nation, the housing market can be a mixed bag of tricks. Some areas are up, some are holding their own, while others are struggling. Yes you can blame the state of the economy on "W" or the "big O" or the ineptness of Congress. But what good will that do? All you do is expel hot air that contributes to global warming and add to the venomous rhetoric that has been spewed by others. It is very easy to blame others for the problems that plague … (22 comments)

Monday Morning Motivator... - 07/27/09 05:58 AM
Monday Morning Motivator & Some Points to Ponder... Many folks under estimate the power of their mind. You can accomplish what ever goal you set before you, if you have it firmly embedded in your mind and believe. Don't get trapped in the web of lies other folks tell you -- You are not good enough, you are not smart enough... If you are going to believe a lie, believe the ones you tell yourself -- I am good enough, I am smart enough, I am prosperous beyond my wildest immagination, I am... ~ Michael Y'all have a G-r-r-r-reat start to … (23 comments)

(not so) Speechless Sunday - Rainy Morning... - 07/26/09 06:53 AM
Ah, Sunday. After spending an evening listening to Southern Gospel in the Fork, and editing the tracks and posting the video on YouTube, I am just a wee bit tired. As it is raining here this morning, I feel that this photo is appropriate for a sleepy, raining morning. I'm going back to bed... Have a wonderfully relaxing Sunday, Y'all... 8-) If you or someone you know is purchasing or listing a home in Brentwood, Franklin, Nashville, Spring Hill or Thompson's Station in the Davidson or Williamson county area of Middle Tennessee and would like more information about getting a CERTIFIED … (17 comments)

Southern Gospel Night in the Fork... - 07/26/09 12:04 AM
Whether you are a local or a visitor to Williamson County, the unincorporated town of Leiper's Fork is a must. Nestled in the south west corner of the county, this town has all the grace and southern charm the South is so noted for. Talent is certainly no stranger to this area, as many of Country Music's finest entertainers and the cream-of-the-crop musicians call the secluded hills of this rural area home. Located just a stones throw from the Natchez Trace Parkway, and miles from the hustle and bustle of Metro Nashville this is an area to visit for those who … (4 comments)

Video Listings... Why Don't Agent's Use Them? - 07/25/09 07:03 AM
Most of you that follow my posts, know that I am constantly thinking out of the box and throwing in my 2¢'s worth every chance I get. Well, the other day, I coerced, fellow ActiveRain members Ellen Anderson and Aileen Schwendimann, kicking and screaming to my studio office to do a video presentation of one of their listings. (not really) Although nervous at first, they soon settled down and got into the act (literally and figuratively). Although, video presentations such as this are really nothing new, I do not see a lot of real estate agents use this cutting edge technology … (24 comments)

RE:Water Stains... - 07/21/09 06:16 PM
As some of you may know, I am starting to do a series of videos about some common issues found during home inspections. I do want to take this opportunity to thank those who have been responding to these. In response to one of the questions asked, "How do you repair water stains?", I have came up with this video. Enjoy - No tomato throwing allowed...

Water Stains Don't Have to be a Deal Killer... - 07/17/09 01:34 PM
Some new home buyers and their agents really freak out when it comes to seeing water stains on the ceiling. In my ongoing series of videos "Helping YOU Live YOUR American Dream" I address this in my short 70 second video. I would greatly appreciate your input as to other series you feel may be helpful to you and your clients...

Wednesday's Thoughts - My 2¢'s Worth - 07/16/09 05:36 AM
One of the reasons that I got and set up a new off site office was so that I could have a place to do videos. After a lot of work over the past few days, I finally got my studio set up and late this afternoon, I shot a test video to test the system. As most of us know, many folks do not have a clue of what a home inspection is about or why they even need one. I plan to start a series of videos that may help your clients understand the reason they need a qualified … (58 comments)

Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone - AKA Going Out On a Limb... - 07/14/09 07:01 AM
Today, I am moving into my new offices which is somewhat of a paradigm shift in lieu of today's economic market. Having an office, other than my home office, has been an item that has been on my vision board for quite some time. Today it has become my reality. As I start start moving in the boxes and setting up my new digs, I looked around and realized that my feng had shuied, my ying had yanged, and my chi was going chi-ching as I doled out the dollars. When many folks are downsizing, why would anyone be taking on … (25 comments)

Monday Morning Motivator... - 07/13/09 06:13 AM
Monday Morning Motivator & Some Points to Ponder... For over a year now, I have been writing my "Monday Morning Motivator..." because I wanted to give my fellow ActiveRainers a positive start to the workweek. I am pleased to see that this concept has caught on and is being widely used by others here in the 'Rain' to help motivate others. Today, as I celebrate my  belated anniversary of my first MMM, I will give my readers a little "twist" to my motivational moment which I hope will put a little "pep" in your step this morning. I have long been … (19 comments)

Bless the Beasts and the Children... - 07/05/09 06:46 PM
As I was putting together a special photo album for some folks that work with inner city children, I realize how much I love taking pictures - especially of children. Some folks say I have a gift to be able to blend in with the background and take the candid shots. I don't really know. Maybe I am just lucky. Lucky to be at the right place at the right time... Lucky to be able to see what others take for granted. Whatever the case, I am so grateful that I have this gift to be able to share with the … (12 comments)

Fireworks and Firearms... - 07/05/09 05:09 AM
Yesterday, being the 4th of July was a great day to watch the fireworks displays in downtown Nashville, Crockett Park in Brentwood, or over in Franklin. But yesterday also marked the end of the career for former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair. He was found shot to death yesterday in a downtown condo. You can read the full story here. Steve was 36 and left behind a wife and 4 children. © 2009 michael thornton | complete home inspections, inc. | brentwood, tn | 615.661.0297 | www.completehomeinspectionsonline.com Helping YOU Help Others Live THEIR American Dream... … (9 comments)

Leaving a Legacy... - 07/04/09 06:55 AM
Today, the media is all abuzz about the "legacy" of the "King of Pop" will leave behind. While, paying tribute to his life's accomplishments and how he affected the music and entertainment world, is warranted, how about the legacy of our Founding Fathers? I have read several posts, similar to the one that Richard Weisser wrote this morning, about the hardships, steadfast determination, and overcoming the superior forces to forge a brave new Nation under God. I urge all true Americans to take but a few moments to reflect back on the Legacy and freedoms that these brave souls left us. … (19 comments)
