Ambidextrous... There are times when I just have to scratch my head with a garden rake and wonder, what do some folks use for brains? It really can't be that hard to get things right is it? Now I know that some folks are ambidextrous in that they can mess a job up with either hand. Such was the case of the installation of the drawers in this corner cabinet situation. I cannot speak for other areas of the country, but here in the Nashville, TN market area, we are experiencing a sellers market in some areas. The Spring sales season seemed to have started a little earlier this year and has not stopped. This week alone, John and I have done over 20 inspections for the week! Needless to say, the market here is rocking and rolling. The more I work in the real estate industry, the more it intrigues me. For example, what is the definition of "Site Built"? For the average laymen purchasing a property, or some Realtors® representing one party or the other, one could or would, logically assume the definition to mean, "Conventional Stick Built" construction from ground up, on site by tradesmen and laborers. But what about manufactured housing? These properties are "constructed" by tradesmen and laborers as well. Builders doing construction in jurisdictions such as this, loosely adopt the IRC (International Residential Codes) as they know that there will be no codes inspectors looking over their shoulders making sure that they correct irregularities in their construction practices. (not so) Speechless Sundae ~ Macro Photography... Some years back, I went through a phase where I was enamored with strobes and macro photography. Needless to say, it did not take me long to get lost somewhere in the chasms of my right mind. (I might add, this is a scary place to be if you haven't been there.) After several failed attempts, the results started getting better. All I can say is thankfully, digital film is cheap and reusable. This was the best out of that session. Tatoonie... I am fascinated at the optical illusions created at sunrises and sunsets. While some are more colorful than others, the mirage of the double sun is very reminiscent of my home planet of Tatoonie. At times, it is difficult for me to get used to the single sun on this planet. But when I see the double sun effect, I often wondered why I left. But then, I remember. The Wonders of the Deep... I am constantly amazed by the colors and shapes found in nature. While at John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo FL, I had the opportunity to tour the campgrounds and do some snorkeling in the crystal clear waters. It is one thing to look at marine life while wading through the water. It is another to view the splendor by snorkeling or diving. Crossing the Abyss... There is a point or a place when business owners make a decision, to stay where they are and remain at their comfort level or go further into the unknown and stretch themselves beyond the point of no return. Taking it Off... Tuesday. The official weigh-in day for "Taking it off in the Rain" and My Fitness Pal. As expected, I was a heathen, got off my regimen and gained a few pounds while on vacation. I got up to 195.5 but still stayed under 200. Which was a mixed bag of both victory and defeat - not what I wanted but it is what it is.
