(not so) Speechless Sundae ~ Macro Photography...                  Some years back, I went through a phase where I was enamored with strobes and macro photography. Needless to say, it did not take me long to get lost somewhere in the chasms of my right mind. (I might add, this is a scary place to be if you haven't been there.)     After several failed attempts, the results started getting better. All I can say is thankfully, digital film is cheap and reusable.     This was the best out of that session. Having dug this one out of the archives, I think … (32 comments)

(not so) Speechless Sundae ~ 3.11.12
One of the highlights of my vacation was the good fortune to get up close and personal with a pod of Manatees. Let's face it, what's not to like about a lovable, lumbering, lummox ~ the gentle giant of the sea?

While in the ocean, they do not often have an opportunity to get one of the items they crave - fresh water. So we all took turns making runs to fill the water bottles so others could get a chance of a lifetime - feed and pet a Manatee.

(not so) Speechless Sundae...                 Ah-h-h-h snow. Something we have but seen a dusting of in this winter that wasn't. To me, snow is Mother Nature's blanket. It can be beautiful to look at while it covers the ground with its soft, velvety layer of white. It has the ability to transform our colorful world in to shades devoid of color. Scenes take on shades of gray that often add mystery and mystique to our lives...

(not so) Speechless Sundae ~ 12.18.11...     Friday and Saturday, I spent time with the family out at the Opryland Hotel. Talk about a class act. Every atrium was decorated in a different theme and it was just a pleasure to walk through the "Gardens of Eden".      This year, they had two poinsettia trees set up. This one was in the Delta atrium. And yes, there is a wedding taking place to the right of the frame...

(not so) Speechless Sundae...     Every now and then, I come across something that warms the cockles of my heart. And what is there not to love about a warm bundle of fuzz?       Big Brother, meet your new little sister. Be prepared, soon, she will be ruling the roost...

(not so) Speachless Sundae...     How nice it is just to have a day to goof off. No deadlines. No cranky customers. No houses from the far corners of hell to inspect. One of those days when one can turn off the connections to the outside world and totally, unequivocally and thoroughly chill. Kinda nice to sit, stare at some calm, serene and soothing scene and let one's mind and spirit or Calgon take you away...      Here's wishin' that Y'all have a wonderfully relaxing weekend. I've even provided a head start. How's that for service with a smile...

(not so) Speechless Sundae...     Golly, where has the week gone? It has to be something to do with these short work weeks that follow long week ends. We are such an active society that has so much to see and so much to do that if we aren't going in one direction, we're going in the other. It almost make you want to flip out.     Hopefully, next week life will return to some type of normalcy, that is, if there is such a thing as "normal" in this business. Today, it's time to chill. Tomorrow with all its trials and tribulations … (24 comments)

(not so) Speechless Sundae...My friend, Craig Rutman, and I immerse in several deep, meaningful and engaging conversations every week. Say What? Okay, let's say we talk several times a week. Nevertheless, we did hit on the subject of whether it is better to be a little fish in a big pond or vice-versa. While puttering around in one of my ponds yesterday, I noticed this little fry swimming around above one of the lily pads. My thought turned immediately to, you guessed it...  "Well, I guess fish are going to be fish." Seriously, though, if you had the choice or option, … (56 comments)

(not so) Speechless Sundae...Sunday finds me somewhere between where I was and home. Batteries recharged, I am ready to hit the ground running when I return. Although I wasn't able to see and do all I wanted, I was still able to have those quiet morning walks. The ones that inspire my creative juices. This will be my last post for the week. I hope to see you all bright and early tomorrow. Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's out there...

(not so) Speechless Sundae...There's nothing like a beautiful sunrise to start the day. Somewhere in this world, both a Sunrise and a Sunset is happening. How grand it would be, if one could zip across the heavens, and forever witness a beautiful sunrise or an awe inspiring sunset. Talk about a gift too beautiful to describe.Every day dawns with a sunrise. Celebrate! New hope, a new beginning is on the rise.Today, yesterday's tomorrow is here.Yesterday and whatever you didn’t like is behind you.Make the change; reach into your unfathomable depths; greatness is within.Today, is a gift; laugh, learn, love.Make someone happy; … (43 comments)

(not so) Speechless Sundae...<sigh> The self imposed (this time) insomnia continues. Up since the "WHE-E-E" (kinda getting a caffeine buzz) hours of the AM, I have been hacking code, tweaking and getting the initial bugs out of one of my new websites. I will unveil it later this morning. Anywho, if y'all don't see to much of me today, I'm not being snobbish, I'm working.Doing a sharp 90 and zipping off in another direction, I'm taking a  much needed diversion from the brain drain. After all, it is Speechless Sundae - Time for the treat; not the treatment.I really dig Iris'. … (27 comments)

(not so) Speechless Sundae…All is well with my world once again, as yesterday's hitch in the giddy-up is a bad memory.  Habits, routines and addictions are funny things; oxymorons if you will. We realize we have them but tend to either ignore them or laugh them off as if they are really nothing. I knew that I had a set routine every morning - slurp down a big cup of my elixir of life and putz around in the rain. But yesterday, there WAS no rain to be active in. So, I did the next best thing and rummaged through some … (39 comments)

(not so) Speechless Sundae…Here I sit, staring at a blank screen knowing that I should type something. Not that I need to, but because I want to. There is a difference. I can only speak for myself, but when I have to do something, my heart is really not into it. Maybe its something to do with the human condition. I go through the motions all the while asking that inner person: Do you really want to do this? No. Will it be 100% when done? Probably not. Will it acceptable? Probably. However, when I do something because I want to, … (33 comments)

(not so) Speechless Sundae...
It has oft been said that practice makes perfect. And so it goes with everything, especially photography. I've been wanting to get out and play with my new camera, but the weather been anything but cooperative.   Yesterday was absolutely Gaw-Gis Dahling. Blue skies, abundant sunshine and above freezing temps prompted a walk around Radnor Lake Wilderness Area in Southern Davidson/Nashville Metro. There are several mistakes in this photo. But the whole purpose of the shoot was to learn, analyze and make adjustments. Hopefully, I will learn what's under the hood before warmer weather sets in...

(not so) Speechless Sundae…For those of you who are tired of snow, gray skies, cold temps and the general blahs of winter, Spring is just a mere 80 days away.Ah yes! Warm breezes, long sunny days, working in the garden, planting flowers... So many neat things to do. Daisey's are nice. Just be sure you're planting them. Not a good thing if you're pushing them up...

(not so) Speechless Sundae...Looking out the window, I gaze upon the cold, barren landscape. Gone are the colorful gardens, the suffocating green lawns, the warm air filled with the songs of children's laughter and the mocking bird high in the pine.Fixating on the frost ferns etched upon my window, memories of this past years events slowly shuffle through my mind. I eagerly await the awakening of the earth to begin her cycle anew. But for now, she slumbers under her blanket of snow; so deserving of her long winter's nap...

(not so) Speechless Sundae... <sigh> Slowly but surely, the sun is sinking ever lower in the southern sky. As the colors of autumn wane and the drab grays transcend over the landscape, walks in the country are still rewarding as the eye candy of autum still linger.  Although the colors are slowly going, going, going; they are not quite gone...

(not so) Speechless Sundae...There is a lot to be said about the road of life. Where it will lead, where it will end. We steadily walk our walk following its bends through hill and glen. It doesn't matter that no two directions or the scenery will be the same. Life is all about the journey. We already know the destination...

Y'all have a great weekend...
