1st time home buyer tax credit: MayDay MayDay MayDay... or is the sky going to fall on May 1st in Real Estate? - 04/27/10 08:07 AM

According to WidipediA: Mayday is an emergency code word used internationally as a distress signal in radio communications. It derives from the French venez m'aider, meaning "come (and) help me". It is used to signal a life-threatening emergency by many groups... The call is always given three times in a row ("mayday-mayday-mayday") to prevent mistaking it for some similar-sounding phrase under noisy conditions and to distinguish an actual mayday call from a message about a mayday call.

Thought the warning was appropriate as we head to our own May Day on Saturday May 1st 2010...  On that … (6 comments)

Discussing 1st time home buying, tax credit, and more...
What an exciting time it is when you decide that you're going to look into the possibility of purchasing your first home.  And perhaps that decision to start the process was made with a bit of trepidation.  Just the thought of owning your own home can be exciting, scary, and at times seem impossible.

1st time home buyer tax credit: How is an offer to purchase handled in Raleigh NC Real Estate? - 01/10/10 09:54 AM
With so many first time home buyers taking advantage of the $8,000 tax credit, and people coming into our Raleigh Real Estate market from all over the country I thought it might be helpful to discuss writing an offer on homes for sale in the Triangle (Raleigh, NC area).  Once all the legwork is completed and you've found that special place that you want to call home don't dally.  With your pre-approval letter in hand your ready to put that offer to purchase in writing.

Just what is an offer to purchase?  It's just that - an offer.  Oral … (3 comments)

Lately the news about the extension of the $8,000 First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit and it's expanded reach to all home buyers is getting a lot of attention and questions.  President Obama has approved the Housing Tax Credit Expansion and Extension. I've gotten a few questions about it over the last few days so thought I'd set out the details of the bill.
$8,000 First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit Extension Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, qualified first-time homebuyers may receive a tax credit up to $8,000. President Obama’s bill extends this program into 2010.

1st time home buyer tax credit: $8,000 1st time home buyers tax credit - the clock is ticking - 08/18/09 04:22 PM

I have a tool for all of you 1st time home buyers out there sitting on the fence about buying a home.  It's a countdown widget you can put on your desktop that will remind you just how many days are left until you've missed getting an $8,000 TAX CREDIT from the U.S Government.
I don't know about you but I sure don't want to miss any opportunity to take advantage of someone wanting to give me money.  And $8,000?  That to me is a good chunk of change.

Just imagine what you could do with that … (8 comments)
