My bear encounter - 06/30/07 11:52 AM
I've seen plenty of bears out on my ranch over thee last few years, but the encounter I had yesterday evening was by far the most exciting. It also taught me a lot about just how inquisitive bears can really be. for some background, I'm a real estate broker in La Veta Colorado. I sell ranches, homes and land in the Cuchara valley. I am also building my own log home in the mountains outside of town. I have a 5th. wheel trailer pulled up on the building site to stay in during construction. I spent 15 years working the gulf coast market, mostly condos. Some of the most stressful moments I can remember came when I was selling a condo in a resort project where the project had a front desk for rentals, on-site housekeeping and 10% or less owner occupancy. In other words about 80% of my market. I always explained to my buyers that unless they were paying cash they should use a local lender. Reason being that their out of town mortgage broker may not be familiar with federal guidelines concerning condominium sales in a resort market. It's not the brokers fault. They just

I have been selling real estate for around 15 years now and I have tried just about every kind of advertising there is over the length of my career. I have used direct mail, news paper, homes magazines, cold calling, open houses, radio and TV, but by far the Internet has proven to be the best ROI I have ever seen. It has been said by people much smarter than I that consistency is the key to success in any advertising.
