I regularly hear stories of people who regret their decision when selecting their agent to list their home for sale. 
 
Here are two of the most common categories I run into.
1)      They picked the agent who offered a discount or flat fee and were told they would get the same full service as other agents in the area, to only find later that was not what they got.
2)      They went with the agent who offered to list their home at a higher price.

Last week I attended the CRS Sell-a-bration in Waikiki.  It was a great event.  I came back with many ideas and a new energy to kick it to the next level.

Last Thursday and Friday I attended the Certified Luxury Home Designation class taught by Active Rain guru Sharon Simms and her daughter Tami Simms-Powel.Sunday I got a commitment for 4 new listings that we will be putting up over the next couple of months.Monday: opened a new escrow, had 3 home inspections, attended the CRS Sell-a-bration, help host the Honolulu Active Rain Gathering with members from around the country and Active Rain founder Matt Heaton and wife Lydia in attendance.Tuesday I closed a nice escrow and got a commitment for another listing and attended the CRS Sell-a-bration and the CRS Fun … (25 comments)

The discussion on designations came up on a few of my blog posts on professionalism.  My last post: MY GRI Designation talked about my experience in getting the GRI designation.  The post will focus on what I consider an extremely important designation and the one I that is the most meaningful to me the CRS designation.
My experience in getting the CRS designation was positive experience.  I learned a lot, met many top agents, made friends and now belong to an organization that continues to help me in my career.

After getting back in the real estate industry I decided that education would be an important part of my business plan.  I started by attended several orientation type classes through the Board of Realtors.  I soon after I began the quest to gain the GRI designation.  I chose this one first for two reasons.

After changing my mind back and forth I went ahead and made my travel plans today.  I found very reasonable airline tickets, got a great price on a room across the street at the Tropicana and registered online for the convention. 
Everything looks great except one thing.  I looked up the weather report for Las Vegas.  34 Degrees!  What was I thinking.  The weather in Honolulu is 80 degrees and sunny.  I guess a swim in the pool is out of the question.
Maybe I will get a pair of electric socks.  Do they still make them?
