home sellers: Homes Don’t Always Sell Fast - 09/06/11 12:24 PM

Selling a home can be quite a stressful process for sellers. Many homes are on the market for months and sometimes longer. Sellers need to maintain their home in showing condition during that period. That can be a big burden while trying to live their lives. They are paying mortgage and can’t finalize their future plans until it sells.
Homes may linger around for a couple of reasons.
A) Failed marketing. It may be one or more of the following.
Over priced Now showing well Not properly advertised (MLS, Internet, virtual tours, flyers, open houses, etc.) Hard to show Bad neighbors … (26 comments)

This is the question on many people's minds.
Here is a few of my observations.
Oahu prices are fairly stable compared to most parts of the country. We have seen a slight slippage overall in median prices. A few areas have seen larger drops like Ewa Beach, which has short sales, foreclosures and developers in the area competing with resale homes. Areas like Kahala have seen price increases. Although sales units are down, homes are still selling if priced correctly and in proper condition. Interest rates are fairly low. home sellers: Honolulu is Close to Getting Electronic Lock Boxes - 07/03/08 02:29 AM

I placed my order yesterday for my first shipment of electronic lock boxes. They will be coming in sometime in August. I have been looking forward to this for some time. Our Honolulu Board of REALTORS® made the decision to go with SentriLock, REALTOR® Electronic Lockbox. Several years back the board implemented electronic boxes and the system was a disaster. This time they underwent serious planning; to ensure they selected the best system and will have a smooth introduction and a program that would be embraced by the members and their clients.
