waikiki: Blogging a Topic at CRS Convention - 02/06/08 12:54 AM
Last week I attended the CRS Sell-a-bration in Waikiki. It was a great event. I came back with many ideas and a new energy to kick it to the next level. Something different this year from last was the word BLOG was being tossed about. Although not a featured sponsor and not getting promoted as a result, Active Rain was still mentioned by several of the presenters and was a regular topic at our lunch and dinner tables. OK, I did start the conversation at the tables. It was well received and a couple of more agents joined the Rain and I

waikiki: Active Rain Gathering in Honolulu – January 28, 2008 - 12/29/07 01:21 PM
We have been talking about this gathering ever since we learned the CRS Sell-a-bration was coming to Hawaii. WooHoo Sally (Celeste Cheeseman) has reserved the location so it is on! We will be gathering at the Gordon Biersch micro brewery. For those of you who know Sally and I you may see the humor. Neither of us drink, making us good designated drivers. Monday January 28, 2008 7:00pm until they throw us out 1 Aloha Tower Drive Suite 1123Honolulu, HI 96813phone: 808-599-4877 We chose Gordon Biersch for a couple of reasons. They are easy to find from Waikiki and the Hilton were

waikiki: Halloween Waikiki Style - 11/02/07 04:29 PM
Two evenings ago (Halloween evening), I was in Honolulu and trapped in traffic. Where did all these people come from? I felt like I was in Manhattan or downtown Chicago during rush hour. Intersections were grid locked. It took me 2 hours to go a reasonably short distance. I had appointments in town and then was going to catch a quick dinner with a good friend to avoid the rush hour traffic home. When I finally met up with my friend for dinner he suggested we try to go to Waikiki and watch the Halloween crazies. So after fighting our

waikiki: Dayna Ho-Henry the Daughter of Don Ho Found Dead - 05/12/07 03:02 AM
It was less than a week ago the funeral for Waikiki legend/ entertainer Do Ho was held. The family and fans of Don were still morning when the tragic news hit. His 52-year-old daughter Dayna Ho-Henry was found dead. According to the news reports she was staying with friends in Waialua on the North Shore of Oahu. For those of you who remember seeing Don Ho's show live or on TV, his daughter Dayna was one of the dancers in his show. The spokesman from the Honolulu Police Department said they were not suspecting foul play.

waikiki: Waikiki Pet Friendly Buildings - 04/20/07 05:04 AM
Below is a list of condos in Waikiki that are pet friendly. This is an important question for families with pets. Also if you are relocating to Hawaii, this issue of animal quarantine comes up. If you are relocating to Hawaii do your self and your pet a favor and check out the Dept. of Agriculture website for animal quarantine information: http://www.hawaiiag.org/hdoa/ai_aqs_info.htm This list was completed as accurately as possible. If an area is blank, it is because the building complex did not specify or answer the questions. The data was taken from the Hawaii Humane Society: http://www.hawaiianhumane.org/programs/petshousing/default.asp

waikiki: Real Estate Sales Activity in the Waikiki - 03/06/07 03:22 PM
Waikiki, Hawaii is located in the City of Honolulu on the south shore of Oahu. (tax map key 126). Waikiki is made up of mostly condos, hotels, timeshares and condo-tels. Single family homes sales are so few as to not show up on the radar screen. Due to the large numbers of condos in Waikiki I am breaking them up in a by price range and separating fee simple from leasehold. The below figures include both fee simple and leasehold properties. These are only the totals and averages. Here are the numbers for fee simple condos sold in Waikiki: Average Sales Price: Today 171 studios active

waikiki: Waikiki is the Place to Be - 11/20/06 06:36 PM
I was driving out to my open house yesterday and it hit me. The sun was up, the birds were singing and the surf was perfect. But something was wrong with this picture. As I stopped along the way to set up road side signs a car went by. It had surf boards strapped to the top and a group of folks heading for the beach. I used to do that before I had a life. Hmmm... maybe that was when I had a life. I bet those part time agents are at the beach, probably hanging out at my favorite spot
