first impressions: WHAT ARE YOU PITCHING? - 05/01/21 06:56 AM
In the world of commerce, investment, goods and services, there are established rules and procedures either for the concept, idea or operation and then there are imposed rules from agencies, departments and participants and when all those mandatory ducks line-up a risk gets its legs and a turn to prove itself
THE TRUE TEST
The wheel has been created now to submit our working model and if we did our homework it will follow its projections like a baby learning to walk. From there, we remain diligent, tweaking and modifying the concept until it takes hold. Then, we become support, management and coach

first impressions: GUARANTEED FIRST IMPRESSIONS SUCCESS TOOL - 05/01/19 07:36 AM
Just about every-type of marketing or promotion is out there working or not all trying to make contact to sell services or products. All start to sound and look the same after a while making a consumer face some tough choices even to get started with. Why this one instead of that one? Well here is an edge to lien it your way
PLASTIC BUSINESS CARDS
Now everyone has a business card and they earn their keep! However, the next step-up is often ignored or even not known i.e. a plastic business card. Unusual in shape, texture and presentation, it remains the mother of all introductions … (7 comments)

first impressions: LICENSING MEANS PERMISSION - 04/30/19 06:49 AM
A license is a permission granted by an authority to do or perform according to set standards. If we take a licensed situation and compare it to an unlicensed one, what takes place? What thoughts occur and what questions should result when discussing to use a product or service that is licensed versus that which is not?
LICENSED TO KILL
Let's start with a little levity here. James Bond known as 007 in the field has a license to kill granted to him by his government. He cannot randomly go around doing this but only in the course of his duties. Great care … (2 comments)

first impressions: WIZARD OF OZ BRANDING (word of mouth) - 09/13/16 03:38 AM
I am speaking of the Wizard of Oz and the song that praises him quite well. We can learn from this that the Wizard has/had good word of mouth, excellent marketing and advertising and even has an exclusive business claim in Emerald City. He is the go to guy. We're off to see the Wizard is not so much a boasting but a reality and expectation to get something done!
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Can the same be said about you? Are people off to see you, your product or service because of the wonderful things you do? Are you smart enough to know that every encounter, whether successful … (4 comments)

first impressions: MIXED MESSAGE MARKETING - 09/13/16 12:31 AM
Its for sale but it is not for sale. Yes, it says "for sale" however, it doesn't look appealing, it isn't priced to sell, is not fully exposed or introduced and the mother of all insults to this injury just getting started is that the person who is in charge, who is the point of contact is not available. I am speaking of what type of  messaging is behind this representation of whatever is for sale
PROPERTY FOR SALE?
Amazing to see a home, in poor or questionable first impression status touting its "for sale" when it looks like its a problem going in. The steal/deal … (10 comments)

first impressions: RENTAL DEMANDS AND DYNAMICS - 05/26/16 11:51 PM
I just had a high priced rental come in to my hands. In addition to doing business, I always have an awareness to learn more about the current events, trends and supply and demand issues whenever I get a rental or a listing. This is what keep us as "go to' agents for our areas. Why? Because we know what is going on and counsel and act accordingly
WHY DESPERATE?
I was surprised at how many people wanted this expensive rental. People from all walks of life and circumstances made themselves known. Nearly every inquiry, and there were many, had a desperate tone to their inquires. They had to … (4 comments)

first impressions: THE TAKE A WAYS - 04/13/16 12:49 AM
We all know how to enhance a situation or the self at the minimum and how it is subjective when doing so. When one makes an effort, you can see the effort at work. Whether it is effective or hitting its intended mark or audience remains to be seen. The opposite is true too. If something is missing or not running optimum, that is at work as well
IMPRESSION
A noticeable spot or tear on your clothes takes from the whole presentation. You can be dressed to the nines, but that one little defect can take down the whole point a few notches.  I call them take a … (4 comments)

first impressions: SELLER PREPARE TO OPEN YOUR HOUSE - 03/15/16 10:10 AM
It is interesting to have to get to know someone right away and because you have to. Think about this. In Real Estate, a bunch of strangers get together rather quickly and have to learn about working with each other to realize a goal or a rather large, one time accomplishment AND successfully I might add. The team assembles and we then go into the charted vast seas of Real Estating
MY INITIAL MEETING
Yes to coming together, covering the obvious and having a workable meeting of the minds. Then, on to the subject property which is always interesting. You see the seller has accepted the premises, their … (6 comments)

first impressions: PRESENTATION - 03/15/16 03:00 AM
This a fascinating dynamic specifically designed to capture interest and to solicit it too. Think about this for a moment. Who doesn't like something that is offered in a certain way that brings out the best to be enjoyed and explored. Then, who wouldn't want to receive a quality item or experience of the highest available?
IT'S EVERYWHERE
In restaurants, they have long discovered the principal of ambiance which is a created environment and how to serve food within that atmosphere. Plates utensils, napkins, display of food, containers and condiments all accent and make for a live Broadway type show when eating out

first impressions: CAUSE and EFFECT - 02/21/16 12:18 AM
In the world of first contact, where the first step is crucial to the way the journey forms and takes shape, the very first contact made, in any form, is telling. Behind every action is the spirit of it and often we read into or out of something to get the feel or meaning of what is taking place. It's there and we wield it too
FIRST IMPRESSION
We talk about first impression almost to the point of making it common and to no effect. Pause a little here. Literally consider the word first and then impression for it is a meaty and very revealing … (6 comments)

first impressions: HOME REPAIRS MATTER - 02/07/16 11:47 PM
I have a place coming up for sale where the family has owned it for decades and used it as a rental for several years. Now, they have decided to sell and we are in the process of giving the home a manicure and pedicure if you will plus a facial. What surfaces is how creative the original owner was on repairs or lack of repairs
ITS YOURS...DO WHAT YOU WANT?
You see when you own your own home, and something comes up that needs repairing, there are many ways to proceed with the revealed issues. Doing repairs is an ongoing part of owning … (9 comments)

first impressions: PEOPLE BUY FROM PEOPLE - 11/09/15 11:28 PM
If you practice warm and fuzzy, fuzzy and warm is what you get back at some point. If aggressive and ambitious, expect to meet your like kind as well. Whatever we are projecting makes an impression or landing on the circumstances and the people involved. Time or an assessment, allows us to make a better decisions assuming we have the time and ability to do so...
EXPECTATIONS
There is a common default behavior of anyone offering a product or service that consists of minimum expectations. The person involved must be neatly dressed, approachable, helpful, knowledgeable and able to process any requests effectively. Smiles, body language … (17 comments)

first impressions: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - 10/30/15 12:06 AM
Our senses are all engaged along with thoughts and emotions when introduced to a person, place or thing and the experience of it all is being processed and inputted beyond our capacity to regulate or even assist. This system runs on its own and feeds back to us forming an impression of the famous "first" impression dynamic we are all a part of
ARE THINGS WHAT THEY APPEAR TO BE?
Here's the thing. During this process and right after it, our personal beliefs kick-in and we tag the experience as a good or bad or right or wrong immediately taking one side or another and holding it until we … (8 comments)

first impressions: WHAT DO THEY SEE? - 08/21/15 06:18 AM
Who is they? Everyone who lays eyes on you everywhere you go. Who are they seeing? YOU. Doctors wear lab-coats, you know those white smocks, attorney dress in suits and some take it to the nines, and Real Estate agents? Well, that is a good question to ask and answer. Believe it or not, it is territorial meaning where you practice has a lot to do with how you present yourself
WHATS YOUR BRAND?
Also related is the type of product and pricing, location and finally what the actual agent sees as their role, branding and appearance when the curtain goes up and they go live. There is … (10 comments)

first impressions: HAVE YOUR TEETH FIXED - 07/07/15 09:42 AM
I have seen some very nice impressions of people via their clothes, demeanor, posture and actions but then something happens that takes away from all that and becomes the focus. It is a set of teeth that can be corrected but are not. I am not singling out anyone and I apologize upfront if rude. But hear me out
CHOMP THIS
Before the new car, trip to Hawaii, more clothes or your next 10 coffee double lattes with extra whipped cream, set aside the monies to go toward the dental work if needed. Many causes of teeth that don't line up or interfere with the … (5 comments)

first impressions: BEST VIDEO BAR NONE - 04/11/15 12:17 AM
I won't keep you in suspense any longer than it takes to get your attention, allow you to get comfortable and then reveal to you the best type pitch video available which I am sure you would agree. It is simply this: It is the person behind the curtain, live, answering the phone or attending a meeting or appointment
IT'S YOU
No matter how many times one sees a commercial, coming attraction, magazine article or hear a pitch of some sort, it all comes down to finally engaging in the moment, in real life that product or service. That is the point of sale and everything … (6 comments)

first impressions: EMERALD CITY USES YELLOW BRICK ROAD AS CURB APPEAL - 04/07/15 06:24 AM
You are driving along when all of a sudden...there it is! It stands out! It speaks but not in words! It also reaches out and grabs your attention but not physically! What is this dynamic that has its own rules of engagement and sets the standards for us all to take note of? It is called APPEAL and it is no myth!
CLASS ACT
It is interesting to note that this says a lot about the person who owns the property and or lives there as well. Doesn't matter if it is a rental, condo, townhome, apartment, hut, cave or house. If it is well cared … (6 comments)

first impressions: WHAT ARE YOU SELLING? - 01/02/15 10:58 PM
Everyone is selling something. EVERYONE! If you take care about how you look, sound, and act when going about your business or personal life, you are offering and demonstrating the product called YOU. The car you drive, the attitudes you employ and the virtues you share all say this is who I am.
YOU CAN ACT BUT...
Movie stars who get $20 million a picture to pretend to be someone prove that acting, pretending and make believe works but only on the big screen along with other tricks and illusions. In person, a person has to be real and genuine if they want to … (10 comments)

first impressions: UPDATE YOUR PICTURE - 10/10/14 08:48 AM
I got an email from someone who took the time to humbly suggest some things in regards to my picture that I use online. They were specific in their feedback and I was ever so grateful that someone took the time to see what I was doing and suggest how I can improve on it. This is to me is a love driven event
EASY PEASY NICE AND EASY
In regards to the subject of pictures, I do believe it is something that should be looked into at least twice a year maybe three times maximum. Now that ActiveRain makes it so easy to do and the … (17 comments)

first impressions: WE ALL WANT TO HAVE THIS EXPERIENCE - 10/07/14 12:18 AM
I had some wonderful tasting dessert the other day at an event. It was priced right, looked good and came right out of the oven too. It was meeting all my expectations so a message was sent by my brain to my wallet to come out and purchase. But that was just the beginning of it
MMM-GOOD
After experiencing it, made me want to come back for more. It did that on its own too. No hype, comment or additional mention was necessary. The proverbial "proof was in the pudding" was at work. Again, my brain sent a message this time to my legs … (8 comments)
