love thy neighbor: GOOD ACTIVERAIN REAL ESTATE STORY - 06/20/22 11:54 AM
Just recently, I was contacted via Active rain by someone who wanted me to sell their home. It came across as spam for this one reason. The email was signed "Popeye". It also gave a phone number and of course their email address. What did I do? Dismissed the whole thing via deleting and moved on. BUT WAIT, there is more
THAT NAGGING FEELING
A day or two later, this revisiting of what took place and what I did kept coming back to me until I finally honored it and decided to do a little investigating. I googled the email and phone and … (29 comments)

love thy neighbor: MIND and then MINE your business - 05/02/21 11:18 AM
Distractions, temptations and poor choices all serve to remind us to first to mind our own business, pursue our own welfare and to perfect our own life style by attending to it. Minding anywhere else creates losses, leakages and stagnation in what amounts to our personal development. Heal thyself first and then do as you will
MINE YOUR OWN BUSINESS
There is literally gold within the self a sort of treasure chest filled with everything you could want and need and how to go about it all that when visited, probed and tested proves itself true. Your personal "gold" mine only needs a … (2 comments)

love thy neighbor: THEY LEFT YOU THE HOUSE? - 04/07/15 01:00 AM
I have personal knowledge of this subject matter. Two separate people that I know who became friendly with their neighbor, then started looking out for them, ended up being a caretaker and when the elderly person passed away, did what dreams are made of and hearts stand in awe of. They left them their house!
DECENT PEOPLE
Both individuals are decent people who live according to their hearts, what is right and truly literally loving their neighbor and not just mouthing the words. The result shouldn't stun or shock yet it does. Too often, an act of love goes unrewarded here on earth for many reasons. But those exceptions stand out … (13 comments)

love thy neighbor: NEIGHBORHOOD REAL ESTATE DISCOUNTS - 03/31/15 12:19 AM
I have a policy in place that works quite well for many reasons which I will share. First the policy of which I hint at in the title of the posting. In my neighborhood, if you have a Real Estate need, when you come to me, you get the neighbor discount just for being my neighbor. Lucky you and lucky me too
IT WORKS IF WE DO
FIRST YOU: You got someone you can trust, always go to and won't fully charge up the fees and that knows the area and of course the persons. It binds us together to make sure that … (8 comments)

love thy neighbor: SLOW DOWN LONG ENOUGH TO OBSERVE AND RECEIVE TODAY - 11/18/11 01:52 AM
Instead of making your day a mission based one, make it one where you are touring the surroundings while coming and going. Be aware of things outside of your field of vision. Pick anything and it becomes the focus of your world and most worthy to have been seen. Slow down long enough to see that you are seeing
PEOPLE MAKE IT WORTHY
Take the time to notice your fellow travelers too. The other day, I bought somebody their lunch who was not expecting it. Because I was paying, they were able to have something they normally would not have bought … (2 comments)

love thy neighbor: GOING THE EXTRA MILE AND GIVING 100% - 11/07/11 07:24 AM
During the Roman times, there was a rule or law that said if a Roman solider needed you to help him carry his goods, you were obligated to do so for one mile. At that time, it was brought up in teaching people on how to love their fellow man that if they ask for one mile, give them two miles. This said something then and it speaks now.... as well
THIS SECOND ONE IS ON ME
The first mile was mandatory and was given begrudgingly. the second one was voluntary and given with ones heart. Both had value but one … (4 comments)

love thy neighbor: EVEN A STOPPED CLOCK GIVES THE RIGHT TIME TWICE A DAY - 10/31/11 03:28 AM
There is good and potential for good everywhere you go. When you find it at work in a human being, every one is encouraged to believe the best about people and to become optimistic while they do. It requires no special effort either. Just going about ones business is an effortless thing to do. In fact, it takes more effort to be dysfunctional than to live correctly
ALL ARE WELCOMED AND CHERISHED
Everyone has worth and value. If you accept the fact that they are here, then that invitation is hard to ignore. The same host invited you to be here … (0 comments)

love thy neighbor: SADDAM HUSSEIN AND QADDAFI BILLIONAIRES HIDING IN HOLES? - 10/30/11 08:58 AM
There is a pattern forming of the "you reap what you sew' crowd that is pretty hard to ignore. You see twice now (recently), notorious fabulously rich men have been found hiding in rat holes fearing for their lives. MMMMM? How come those billions don't help out? Interesting point to ponder here
HELP ME PLEASE UNDERSTAND
Let's start out with this thought. I don't get it. Please, someone help me understand this. Men are given chances to rise to the top of their field whether it be a corporation or the running of a country. They come into power, fame and … (3 comments)

love thy neighbor: SCROOGE STORY OF SALVATION AND REDEMPTION COVETED SECOND CHANCE - 10/16/11 05:01 AM
I read the book and have seen many movie versions of SCROOGE some of which are very good. It remains a good story with meaning and applies to anyone past, present, or future. The point is potent and when the person is ready to hear it, they will. Until then, it remains entertaining and leaves room for thought
A VERY COMMON STORY LINE
Scrooge starts out like we all do. He comes from a home with some minor problems and doesn't receive the love or attention he would have liked. Instead, he is treated distantly until someone intervened for his better … (4 comments)

love thy neighbor: SMILING THERE IS NO DEFENSE AGAINST IT - 09/27/11 07:15 AM
I wonder what the world would be like if everyone not only practiced SMILING within their own family or circle of friends, but with everyone they meet. I have yet to meet anyone that accused someone of assault with a deadly SMILE, SMILING without a license or SMILING over the speed limit
I HAVE A GIFT FOR YOU
For the last few weeks, I have been giving away SMILES. Lot's and lot's of big, grinning, glad to see you, how ya doing SMILES and what I get in return is priceless. I don't know most of the people I give SMILES … (2 comments)

love thy neighbor: NETWORKING WORKS IF YOU WORK IT BUT HOW - 09/14/11 03:32 AM
It is so simple that we made it complex to stymie the intellectuals out there. What is networking? It is being in a social frame of mind wherever you go. Everyone loves to talk and share. Good listeners have paths beaten to their doors when it they activate their caring or listening modes. Asking questions starts the process. From there, anything can happen
ASKING QUESTIONS OF OTHERS
I can ask a general question to a group or specific to an individual. From there, conversation ensues and you just networked. You can tweak it up or down. Sometimes a smile will trigger … (8 comments)

love thy neighbor: EATING BBQ RIBS - 08/17/11 07:22 AM
My friends if you wish to travel back in time to when your ancestors gathered wood for a fire, the only other thing after that was having something to roast over it. Then, life became worth living because roasted meats satisfy by looking, cooking and then eating. It never fails to please. May I remind everyone to BBQ and keep BBQing?
THE PLEASURES OF LIFE
BELOW: That's hickory smoke coming out of my seasoned BBQ pit. The smell permeates the neighborhood and even promotes and supports "LOVE THY NEIGHBOR" because it is so pleasant to partake of. Let's see what is … (0 comments)

love thy neighbor: CITY LIVING IS NOT REAL AND ANIMALS IN THE ZOO ARE NOT REAL EITHER - 05/30/11 07:49 AM
Why would anyone come to a place where there is smog, traffic, congestion, high crime, extra expenses, and so many rules and regulations? Because that is where you go to make money. Perhaps the only other acceptable answers are to find a mate or to visit others caught up in the greatest race of all...THE RAT RACE
WHAT IS QUIET ?
I speak as a fellow rat...a city boy who always wondered about great open spaces, vast seas, deep rich valleys, thick forests, wildlife, and lovely climbable mountains. I never knew what the word quiet really meant until I visited my … (2 comments)

love thy neighbor: SPIRIT OF THE LAW... VS... LETTER OF THE LAW....and my dear wife too - 05/27/11 06:17 AM
My wife and I are outside this morning working around our 1/3 acre when a traffic officer writes up my neighbor for parking incorrectly on street sweeper day. First of all, we have lived here for years and never seen this happen. Second, the sign directing this is around the corner from the house and third, it is a rural area with little or no curbs
GUILTY..BUT GO LIGHTLY HERE
Look, we are all guilty of something or another. Where do you want to start on this subject? I understand that the law has powerful legs and can march successfully into … (6 comments)

love thy neighbor: COMPROMISE...THE CONCEPT OF FINDING AGREEMENT - 05/15/11 02:41 AM
Who wants to give in? Who wants to be the first? You see at some point this has to take place. We have complicated it and made it into a game of sorts. Strategy has become part of the dynamics. Compromise will be with us for our life times...use it on everything except one thing......your principals
We have to find solutions and each person may see their way to be the best way. But you see everyone sees their way to be the best way so being inflexible is not an option. Give and take is...Ask yourself what is important to … (2 comments)

love thy neighbor: WHERE YOUR HEART LIES...THERE LIES YOUR TREASURE TOO...holds up - 05/11/11 07:45 AM
There are many lessons to be learned during your short stay here that we refer to as life. So often, we learn things after the fact which is unpleasant, but part of our heritage, our nature, and our make-up. But there are other ways to navigate as well. The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose...it is as simple as that
USE THE MORAL COMPASS
Your beliefs are the rudder that you steer your daily course by. A bad or faulty belief can lead you astray and it is wise to test your belief's before, during, and after … (4 comments)

love thy neighbor: WARM-CALLING....WAS HERE FIRST.....THEN COLD CALLING CAME - 05/09/11 06:40 AM
You see how it all began? By being neighborly. By taking the time to greet, meet, and then care about the incident. You knew people and they knew you. They liked you and the first rule of marketing was born...PEOPLE BUY FROM PEOPLE FIRST...then whatever you are selling
FOR SALE....ME
So, that means we are selling ourselves. Not in a obnoxious, overpowering, domineering or manipulative way..NO. By getting to know someone and have them get to know you. This can be practiced wherever you go. No training required either. You just need legs, a mouth, a set of ears and the … (2 comments)

love thy neighbor: BRING BACK FRONT PORCHES AND.....EVENING STROLLS - 04/16/11 05:38 AM
I was brought up with a feeling that I belonged where ever I lived. I mean I knew everyone within 6 blocks in either direction and people knew me within 20 blocks of either direction. I was always out and about, walking, running and riding my bike. I used to hike to the local ice cream store with my wife and 3 kids all the time
I KNOW YOU
We were known and we knew everyone. I didn't live in a house. I lived in a home thanks to my wife. My neighbors were real live people who I knew all … (3 comments)

love thy neighbor: ALWAYS BE READY FOR ANYTHING.....MY NEIGHBOR NEEDED EMERGENCY HELP - 03/10/11 11:21 AM
I am at home on the computer monitoring my Real Estate affairs and writing some chapters in my "Pearls for...Series" and I get a knock on my front door. I live in a semi-rural part of town and knocks on doors is not common. My neighbor is standing there and he asked me if I can call 911
I CAN'T BREATH RIGHT
You see he was having trouble breathing. He was afraid to be alone and knew I was home. He also knew I handle things and I know he thought if I can get to Richie, I will be OK. … (6 comments)

love thy neighbor: AGENTS: REAL ESTATE AGENT HAS A BAD NEIGHBOR......what to do...? - 11/15/10 01:48 AM
I was hobnobbing with my fellow agents the other day when one shared that they were having a really bad time with their next door neighbor. We don't really appreciate having a good neighbor until you get a really bad one. This neighbor is an alcoholic, intimidating, large in size, unreasonable, and doesn't like anyone. In addition, he likes to pay people back
YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE....COMING YOUR WAY
He tried to set up my agent friend by alleging to anyone who would pay attention that the agent molested his 3 year old daughter. Well, that did it for the agent and … (14 comments)
