risking: THE OBVIOUS ESCAPES US WHY? - 08/23/16 07:27 AM
I am reminded of the woman who frantically was looking all around her home for her reading glasses one day only to give up the search, sit down, dejected and full of failing and perplexity and finally lowering her head so that she could cup her face & cry and discovering the glasses sitting up there, on her head waiting for her
RIGHT THERE
All that time, from the first thought to reach for them, discover they were not there, retrace all her steps, search hi and lo, repeat it all, go through all her range of motions only to discover that everything she … (4 comments)

risking: EVERYONE HAS ONE - 07/02/16 07:12 AM
I am speaking of an opinion; you know that belief with lips that can be passionate, obstinate, argumentative or just informative. Whatever is behind the sharing, what a person thinks and then shares is most important just for the simple reason as follows: You get to know a little bit more about that person. Here is where it breaks down many a time
THE DISAGREEMENT
The people conversing don't agree. An opposing opinion meets a opinion at large and a disagreement kicks in. Nothing wrong with people sharing what they believe in, the why of it and furthering their capacity while doing so. It's the … (8 comments)

risking: GOOD NEWS BAD NEWS & MY NEWS - 02/18/16 07:21 AM
To put life in a good or bad arena is not a fair assessment. Life is bigger than good or bad, happy or sad, and right or wrong. These choice or points view have been with us for centuries and influence us today in almost everything. I say, come if you will but I will determine what is or is not the news of the day
POINT OF VIEW
There are so many ways to look at something. Perspective is a valuable tool in the personal and professional worlds. I like hearing and learning about a subject or the focus in detail sometimes while practicing … (14 comments)

risking: SIMPLE IS AS SIMPLE DOES - 02/06/16 07:28 AM
When you say yes or no to something, that is as succinct and clear as one can be when called upon to do so. Granted, there are times when furthermore is required, but then, we wont know that until that moment. Its trying to include it when it is not necessary that bogs it all down. Spontaneity is to be relished and appreciated
OH THAT...
How many times have you heard something said or presented where you don't have a clue as to what it means? Then, the very next step is to inquire and when you find out that it was a simple point, you wonder … (4 comments)

risking: HOW TO BE A SUCCESS AT ANYTHING - 12/03/15 07:39 AM
Want it! Not the success but the going of the getting of it. The application, the launching of the first step to put legs on an idea, is really all that is needed. After that, the direction one must go is revealed on a step by step basis as it unravels before you waiting to be traveled and explored. You can help this along by...
HAVING A PLAN
I find it useful to brainstorm and commit to a drawing board everything associated with what is needed or wanted to be done. I simply write down everything that comes to mind whether relevant or not … (6 comments)

risking: RISK - 11/17/15 07:26 AM
This subject of risking exists for a reason and it can benefit the human or cause harm. What actually takes place if allowed or engaged as well as the results, depend on the person who activates or triggers the risk. There are risks that lead to growth, gain and allow us access to never before seen and heard places and others that lead to ruin.
CALCULATED
There are calculated risks, the thought out, discussed type that when through assessing, one concludes it is safe to launch and they do. They have a specific aim or want and move toward that direction knowing how … (2 comments)

risking: THE PAY OFF IS THERE - 09/12/15 07:08 AM
Decades ago, I decided to look into the subject of gambling from a research point of view. I wanted to know if there was s such a thing as advantage when rolling the dice so to speak. You see we all have heard that house always wins and I found this to be true. So how does one win when they do? That's my question and I pursued it
THE MICRO-CHIP
I read several books on slot machines. While all were revealing, they had one thing in common. They could not go past a certain point of information. They stopped short of the "chip" … (10 comments)

risking: SINKING IN THINKING LEADS TO ANALYSIS PARALYSIS - 08/28/15 11:24 AM
OR...is it the other way around? Analysis paralysis leads to sinking in your thinking? What in the world does this mean says one and another says that is so true. So that we all get on the same page during this post visiting, let's expand a little bit more these seven little words that pack wallop!
These two systems are not complimentary to the human being and their journey but exist and intrude often if we let them. Why do we let them! Stop this! Perhaps this post will help

risking: IF YOU DONT LIKE BULLS - 07/17/15 12:41 PM
Stay out of the bull ring. Become a viewer or observer but leave the fighting of bulls to bullfighters and matadors who understand what the dynamics are when entering into the arena. This applies to just about any venture too. Start-up, being a newbie, being green (naive), inexperienced all had to have a starting point to not be these things anymore
FIRST TIME...good stuff
I remember fondly my learning how to text but not after putting it off for months and months. When I finally figured it out, I picked up speed to my liking. Same for my first laptop too. Working without a mouse I thought interesting as … (11 comments)

risking: THE ART OF THE RISK - 02/10/15 12:54 PM
First and foremost should be the WHY we risk. It's to gain! You cannot make a gain unless you take a risk! The return on the gain is controlled by the risk taker. Sometimes it is a material risk for a material gain and other times it can take the form of many other categories. Let's take a favorite one for instance: It is better to.....

risking: I WORKED FOR A HARD MONEY LENDER part 2 - 01/22/15 07:27 AM
In part 1, I describe working for a man that lived through the depression and two world wars, started a business under hardship and went on to become a millionaire several times over. Some of the principles he practiced continue to work well. Others need adjustment for current time activities
HELLO...IS THIS THE MORTGAGE COMPANY?
When it came time to loan money out, we had a standard line of questioning over the phone. After one or two minutes, we would know if we/you had something or not. If we/you did, the next step was to come down, leave an appraisal fee and … (4 comments)

risking: I WORKED FOR A HARD MONEY LENDER part 1 - 01/22/15 06:51 AM
Back in the early 70's and 80's, I worked for a wealthy man who made his money during the depression and two world wars and amassed a fortune in Real Estate. When I met him, he was managing his affairs in the form of three companies he owned and operated. One of them was a lending operation
HARD MONEY
This man was a hands on, veteran of several Real Estate cycles, acts of God and man and was not only conservative but cautious in everything he did which invited criticism. You see he worked long and hard for his money under very challenging times. … (4 comments)

risking: ARE YOU READY FOR ANYTHING? - 01/01/15 06:59 AM
Is the word NEW just a word to you or does it really take hold and apply in the literal sense. Here we have a symbolic and concrete opportunity to start fresh on any subject you choose. What a great way to keep score too. Easy to remember and it is a positive bookmark for the brain. A New Year!
CATEGORIES
The subjects that a person can visit with, support, activate and work-out in... have no end. Perhaps keeping it to two categories might help. Lets call it personal and business. These two should cover more than enough for the entire year … (10 comments)

risking: REAL ESTATE LONG-TERM INVESTMENT ALWAYS WORKED - 08/29/14 07:13 AM
I like to point out that buying a home is a long term investment that holds. The Wall Street quick buck flip days came and went and good riddance too. Those that made fortunes would disagree I am sure. In the 1950's, you bought a home like you bought clothes...for the long haul. Communities and neighborhoods were born and white picket fences dotted the landscapes
PLANT YOUR SELF DOWN

risking: LEARNING TO SWIM THE BUSINESS GROWTH STROKE - 05/15/14 10:01 AM
I managed to get a dream job back in 1972 working with a retired pharmacist who was a multi-millionaire. This man went through the depression and a couple of world wars and figured a few things out. When I met this gift mentor, he had three thriving Real Estate companies
PARTNERSHIP WITHOUT INVESTMENT
That's what the ad said when I found it. I was young, naive and by chance (?) answered the ad via snail mail that I was interested. No resume, no cover letter just a I am willing to work and sent it off. I forgot all about it until one day, … (12 comments)

risking: MAKING IT IS EASY KEEPING IT IS ANOTHER MATTER - 04/05/14 10:44 AM
The title of the post was brought home up close and personal to many during this last brutal Real Estate crash. Everyone was able to purchase a home no exceptions and many dreams came true. It was the American Dream slowing down so you can hop on and ride along
NO GUARANTEES
Well we know that things happen. Jobs terminate, health acts up and miscellaneous kicks in supporting the premise of the "no guarantees in life" cliche. Getting started, a foothold and even a good job is not hard to do. What to do during and after remains challenging
RESPONSIBILITIES AFFECT OUR THINKING

risking: MONEY TAKES MONEY TO MAKE MONEY - 06/29/13 06:58 AM
I have worked with investors who are seasoned and have a trained eye. They scour and roam the Real Estate countrysides (and other places) looking for potential deals to PLANT or SEED their money in.....But it did not start out that way.....You see it takes years of saving money in some instances to even consider playing the INVESTMENT game. Then perhaps you may pool with others and venture out there to do investor. Money that you have worked hard for called "SWEAT" money cannot be just gambled away.
WHATS THE NEXT GIMMICK?
Just like you see all these neat little gadgets … (12 comments)

risking: YOUR OWN GREED CAN WORK AGAINST YOU - 03/25/13 08:06 AM
I remember many years ago when I was an ignorant (innocent) fool and out of a job. I was collecting unemployment and you have to go to the unemployment office in person to collect your check. I come out with my cashed check and I notice a group of people right next to the parking lot. I go over to investigate....

risking: CHIPPED IN TO MAKE IT HAPPEN GOT MY MONEY BACK NO PROBLEM - 05/10/12 01:56 PM
Many years ago, I was partnered with two very creative people who were good at buying land, developing it and then selling the product. It was lucrative and my two partners were seasoned and one was second generation. We became aware of a potential six home site in a prime area that was just sitting. We inquired and went to work to see what we could be done

risking: TO POST OR NOT TO POST - 05/08/12 04:28 PM
Some people are very passionate on certain subjects. What do you do when you got the urge to share, but are afraid to take the risk? I mean if you have a passion, it should be shared. Of course I am talking about permissible things here. The hesitation to post or launch is not a good use of your time. I am going to make a risk statement and tell you when in doubt....post
