NAR's chief Economist Lawrence Yun, said of March stats, that favorable affordability conditions have been working with the tax credit. "Clearly the home buyer tax credit has helped stabilize the market. In the months immediately following the expiration of the tax credit. we expect measurabley lower sales," he said. The result? Newly depressed prices appeared to bolster the region's housing sales last month, even as the state and nation registered downward sales numbers. Sales of existing single-family homes in Palm Beach County fell 3 percent last month from year-ago levels, a relative leveling off after months of double-digit drops, while Treasure Coast sales posted a 43 percent hike, the biggest annual percentage gain

home sales: South Florida Real Estate Market Showing Signs of Life - 07/07/08 09:29 AM
According to the Florida Real Estate Journal there has been a slight up-tick in existing home sales in the three Southeast Florida MSA's-West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. The report is from Mike Pappas, CEO of the Keyes Company (one of the largest residential realtors in the region). "The West Palm/Boca market for both single-family homes and condos has shown positive trends in the last two months, which is consistent with the positive activity reported by the Keyes Palm Beach offices," added Pappas. Things seem to be looking better for the South Florida Realtors, do you agree?

According to the latest housing statistics released by the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), Florida Existing Home Sales Improve month to month. Florida Realtors® statewide continued to report positive signs in their local housing markets, with an up tick in existing home and condominium sales in May 2008 from April 2008.
