Duck Race - 2007! - 07/30/07 02:44 PM
The annual Black Hills Duck Race was held July 29, 2007.  Over 18,000 rubber duckies were dropped into Rapid Creek at the west-side McDonalds at 2:00pm.  They floated all the way down Rapid Creek and the first 33 duckies to cross the finish line brought some very nice prices to their owners!
                                                  
Below is a list of the winners for the 2007 race which raised over $90,000 for the Children's Miracle Network:
1st place: $5,000 from McDonalds: Alyssa Soesbe of Black Hawk
2nd place: $7,000 Spa from the Pool And Spa Center: Angela Lewan of Rapid City

As I was walking into a restaurant with my family and switching my phone to silent I noticed a missed call and voicemail waiting for me.  The message was from one of my military clients who has been transferred and hasn't had any luck getting his house sold since we listed it in March.

Sturgis Bike Rally - Ride Safe! - 07/25/07 09:29 PM
We are quickly approaching the annual Sturgis Bike Week in the Black Hills of South Dakota!  The festivities don't really begin until the second week in August but the motorcycles will start pooring in any day now.
With this great tourist event come many motorcycle enthusiasts from all of the US and around the world!  (Yes - people ship their bikes from New Zealand, Europe, etc.).
Rapid City and all the little towns around the Black Hills have a love/hate relationship with this event.  The tourism dollars are WONDERFUL but the inability to drive anywhere without being surrounded by motorcycles is somewhat unnerving.  … (0 comments)
