Don’t Pack That Extra Bag on Continental & American Airlines, It will Cost YOU! - 07/17/08 10:24 AM

It's all over the news, gas prices and oil prices are through the roof, and they don't look to be coming down anytime soon.  If you like to travel as much as I do, you always have to keep up on all the newest regulations.  I usually fly Continental Airlines because I have elite status which lets me over back my bags and usually get bumped to first class.  However, there are times when American Airlines is a better deal or is the only one flying to where I want to go.  Well if you fly American or Continental any time … (6 comments)

The Importance of a Good Facial for a Women & Men - 07/17/08 10:16 AM
Do you want to look 30 when you are 50?  60? 70?  Well if you do, the work starts now!  Skin health is something that many of us forget when you were busy with our daily lives.  It's our fist impression on the world, and our largest organ that cannot be replaced.  One of the best lines of defense that most people know of is using a daily moisturizer and trying to remember a good sunscreen when they are outside.  However, over time, that just isn't enough.  I personally try to get a facial one time every other month, and sometimes every … (19 comments)

Get Your European Fine Goods While You Can! - 07/17/08 10:07 AM
We all know the dollar is very weak compared to the Euro and the English Pound. Up till now, we haven't really been too affected by it when buying goods from those countries. Why?
Manufacturers order materials 1-2 years in advance of the finished products actually making it to store shelves. This lead time helps retailers establish pricing and keep it that way instead of having constant fluctuating prices based on the exchange rate and the ever changing cost of goods. 2 years ago, the dollar was stronger than it was 6 months ago against the Euro. European Manufacturers and American … (0 comments)

Celebrity Sighting: Mr. Cellophane (John C. Reilly) & Gordon Ramsay (Hell’s Kitchen) - 07/17/08 10:00 AM

Remember Chicago?  On my most recent jaunt to Los Angeles, I was sitting in first class on Continental Airlines and low and behold there sat Mr. Cellophane himself, John C. Reilly!  If you are a fan of musicals as much as I am, you would have been excited too.  He was super nice and flattered that of all the characters he has played, that I instantly recognized him as that!  You may remember him from "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story".  He was super nice and very polite to everyone.
So then, I get my rental car and head over … (0 comments)

The Best Things About Higher Fuel Costs! - 07/17/08 09:49 AM
This past weekend I was visiting New Orleans, I was talking to a few friends who lived there and we started discussing changes in the economy and how they affected people on a local level. It got me to thinking about how higher fuel costs actually help us in ways we never imagined. The following is a list of things that are actually benefits of higher fuel costs. Feel free to add to the list in comments below.
1. The days of teenagers driving the "drag" through town are over. Minimum wage jobs don't allow kids to drive around in circles … (4 comments)

Thinking of Buying or Building? Make a Book First - 07/16/08 10:51 AM
How many times have you looked through a magazine and spotted something you would love to have in your next home?  Have you ever driven by a house and taken a picture of the outside because it was exactly what you wanted?  We have all done it, but how many times do we actually rip those articles out and organize them in one place?
A house book is one of the best ideas I've ever used to help clients decide what they really wanted in a house.  If you are thinking of buying or building, how do you plan on telling … (1 comments)

What is Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI)? Not Everyone Can Get It! - 07/15/08 03:51 PM
PMI has been a mystery to home buyers for as long as it has been in existence.  It's that insurance that almost every home buyer has to get in order to buy a home with less than a twenty percent down payment.  It is essentially insurance for the lender that covers the amount between what you put down and eighty percent of the value of your home. The larger your down payment, the less PMI you need.  As your home increases in value or you pay down your mortgage, it's important to keep an eye on how much you owe on … (0 comments)

Someone Always Needs Your Help. This Week It’s The Brazos Valley Food Bank - 07/15/08 03:47 PM
I will never know why things happen to me the way that they do. However, as I get older, I have come to the realization that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. Last week was a prime example of this. I was standing in line at the pharmacy to pick up my epi pen so that I could start a new allergy treatment program that would not be covered by my insurance. When I signed up for the program, I justified the $1200 a year with the hopes of not suffering through another allergy season ever again! So there I stood in … (0 comments)

5 Star Hotel Bedrooms - In Your Own Home! - 07/15/08 03:37 PM
If you've ever stayed in a great hotel and when it came time to check out you didn't want to leave, you are not alone. Today's 5 star hotels and many 4 star hotels are making their beds and bathrooms more luxurious all the time. It's almost as if it's a competition between them to see who can top the other. The bathrooms keep getting larger and the beds keep getting fluffier with even higher and higher thread count sheets.
But going home doesn't have to be the end of your stay at your favorite hotel! Due to an enormous amount … (1 comments)

Real Estate That Changes and Moves as You Wish: Coming Soon to Dubai, Moscow, and New York City! - 07/15/08 03:30 PM

When you were a child, you probably had or played with a slinky. You probably remember how you could twist and spin a slinky in a million different ways to create some crazy looking tubular shapes. Well now you may be able to do the same thing with your home! Today in Dubai, a new building was unveiled called the Dynamic Tower which will be 80 stories tall and be able to adjust its shape at any given moment. Each floor will be able to spin independently to change that floors view or to change the shape of the entire … (1 comments)

The Mistakes that Luxury Home Builders and Owners Make - 07/15/08 03:26 PM
I see it every day, and it's really sad. A home builder or even a buyer will construct a high priced "luxury" property and try to sell it immediately or within a couple of years of its completion. I use the term "luxury" in quotes because in this case I'm calling it an interpretation of what a luxury property really is.
A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that a luxury home qualifies as a luxury home merely based on the properties square footage or land size. However, a luxury home can be a 1500 square foot town-home or … (4 comments)

Century 21 Beal Clients Earn Softball Coaching Staff of The Year Honors! - 07/15/08 03:06 PM

It's rare that we get to brag on our clients, but I had to brag on mine today.  All three of these ladies have purchased multiple properties from our office and have even let me refer them to agents in other locations to help them buy properties there.
They all three coach the girls softball team at Texas A&M and this year, they played in the final game of the World Series and just barely lost wining it all.  They added to their list of honors yesterday.  Texas A&M Head Softball Coach Jo Evans and Associate Head Coaches Joy Jackson … (0 comments)

Pebble Creek & Indian Lakes: The Best Luxury Markets in College Station, TX - 07/15/08 03:01 PM

College Station has luxury homes located in many different areas, but for the past few years and seemingly for many more to come, the best areas to buy or build in are Pebble Creek and Indian Lakes.  These are two very different communities from each other; however, they have the smallest number of days on the market and the best appreciation in town.  Why is this?
Pebble Creek is the only golf course and country club community located in the confines of the College Station Independent School District.  While Bryan has 4 of these communities, College Station only has one.  … (0 comments)

Replacing Soles: The Key to Luxury Shoe Longevity - 07/15/08 02:53 PM

I spend a lot of money one shoes.  I guess it's my thing.  My broker spends a lot of money on fishing equipment and I think it's insane.  I have another friend that spends ungodly amounts of money on computer equipment that I also see as excessive.  No matter who you are, you have that thing that you will spend a little extra on. Shoes have always been mine.
However, I don't get rid of them easily.  Good quality luxury brand shoes should and can last for decades!  Now, if you don't wear them at all, of course they … (0 comments)

The Republic Steakhouse: College Station’s Only AAA 4-Diamond Award Restaurant - 07/15/08 02:47 PM

When I first came to College Station over a decade ago, I remember everyone complaining that we just didn't' have enough good places to eat. They also complained that what we did have wasn't all the amazing.
Well just over a year ago, one of my long time clients and college friends Wade Barkman moved backed to College Station to try to change that. In 1999, Wade graduated from Texas A&M and moved to New York to attend the Culinary Institute of America. When he finished there, he moved to one of the "food" capitols of … (0 comments)

Gucci Dog Collar: $195.00
Gucci Dog Harness: $355.00
Gucci Travel Bag: $820.00
Gucci Travel Bed: $290.00
Louis Vuitton Pet Carrier Bag: $1,570.00
 Juicy Couture Cashmere
Dog Sweater: $47.50

Today's Luxury Market isn't just about people anymore.  The affluent buyer expects luxury in every aspect of his or her life including the family pet.  It seems that there is no limit to what they will spend to have their pets live in the lap of luxury.  So my question to all our reader's is: "How much would you spend on your pet?"

If you have been or are thinking of buying a lot in Pebble Creek Country Club in College Station, TX, you might want to get on the list very soon!  For the past decade, we have seen this amazing neighborhood increase in size constantly with virtually no end in sight.  The end of this time is coming and soon!

How Much Driveway Can You Have in College Station? - 07/15/08 02:10 PM
Maybe I'm the last one to know, but the City of College Station is pretty strict now on where one can have a driveway, how wide it can be, and how many openings one can have out of it's property.
I recently sold a property that has no street parking in front of it or on the side of it.  The only parking you have is for two cars in the driveway and for two cars in the garage.  My client asked me to check in to getting him a permit to pave a wider opening so that he could have … (0 comments)
