To date, the WBCNA has helped small business owners in North Alabama  receive over &lt;strong&gt;$2,000,000&lt;/strong&gt; in small loans. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Small business  owners&amp;nbsp;often have difficulty in accessing capital from traditional lending  markets. To assist these small businesses, the U.S. Small Business  Administration (SBA) developed the Community Express loan program, an innovative  approach to bring SBA financing to areas where commercial loans have been  difficult to get. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Attend the "Financing Your Own Business" workshop at  the IMPACT Learning Center in Scottsboro, to find out how small businesses,  including start-ups, can receive 10-year loans up to $50,000 with no collateral  and minimum paperwork.&amp;nbsp; Loan applications and assistance with completing the  forms&amp;nbsp;will be provided.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The application process is easy and loan  decisions are typically issued within days. Loan proceeds can be used for  purchasing inventory, machinery, equipment, land, buildings, and working  capital.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Metro area home sales dropped 35 percent last month against June 2007, while average and median prices also slid from June 2007, the Birmingham Association of Realtors said Wednesday.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Statewide, there was a similar picture. Prices fell from a year ago while sales tumbled nearly 27 percent, according to the Alabama Center for Real Estate at the University of Alabama.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Instead of a cramped dorm or rundown apartment, Watkins lives at Creekside, an upscale off-campus community a little more than a mile from campus. The neighborhood features homes with granite countertops and hardwood floors, a clubhouse and a three-tiered resort-style swimming pool. Most - if not all - of his neighbors are also students.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;"There is a niche for luxury housing on college campuses today," said Grayson Glaze, executive director for Alabama Center for Real Estate at the University of Alabama.&lt;/p&gt;
