Hudson River Sunsets - Boating & Kayaking in Sleepy Hollow - 10591 - 07/17/08 02:51 AM
I happened to be in one of my favorite places last night - the Sleepy Hollow dog park in Kingsland Point Park. As I was leaving I saw all the boats on the Hudson River. One thing about being around the river towns such as Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown and Irvington of Westchester is that there is always a beautiful view. On a bright and warm summer evening its possible to see kayaking and sailing along the Hudson. Tonight was such a night and as luck would have it, my trusty camera was on-hand. I was even lucky enough to catch the (12 comments)
Whatever Happened to Mr. Blandings Dream House and Walter Fielding’s Money Pit? - 07/10/08 03:27 AM
Ok - so I've always loved going to the movies. I particularly love seeing old movies. They create a window into the past that is more vivid and in many cases “real” than many books can reveal. After I bought my first home – and EVERYTHING seemed to fall apart at once, I was introduced to two movies that I still like to watch every few months. Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House starring Cary Grant and Myrna Loy and The Money Pit staring Tom Hanks and Shelley Long. These two movies resonate with the public even today despite the fact (8 comments)
Kittens in need of rescue.... - 07/10/08 01:13 AM
Every once in a while I get a very sad email about an overload in the shelters. I got such a letter today from friend of mine involved in rescuing animals in Westchester. She asked for me to pass it, which I have and I am also posting this. Apparently there is such an overload that the clock is ticking on 60 kittens of varying ages - from about three weeks to several months of age. I'm posting the information - along with a few shots of the kittens in question. Perhaps people within the AR community or among (7 comments)
Second Quarter Housing Sales Statistics for White Plains, NY - 07/09/08 03:00 AM
Here are some interesting pricing and sales statistics for the second quarter of the year for White Plains, NY. I have compared the current data with data from the same period the year before and some interesting trends that I have casually observed become quite clear through the numbers. 1. Sales Price – 2007 vs. 2008:This first chart shows average pricing changes from the second quarter of 2007 and 2008. For cooperatives, the pricing remains flat at an average price of $217,000 for both years. Condos showed a startling statistic with raw prices up 18.5% from an average price of (4 comments)
The Source of my Inspiration as a Pet-Friendly Real Estate Agent. - 07/05/08 10:28 PM
It’s been a while since I’ve had a post featuring my canine family. Having several dogs puts me in touch with many other pet owners. From the moment I started working as a real estate agent, the difficulties that pet-owners have finding a place to live have become a major focus for my business. So when I see my pets, I am looking at a source of inspirationJade & Tundra are with me everywhere. People ask me what they are and are they related. They are both white Siberian Huskies and yes they are “related” though not litter mates. The white (10 comments)
Happy 4th of July Everybody…..from Ichabod’s Landing in Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591 - 07/05/08 12:43 AM
This year I spent the 4th in Sleepy Hollow near Ichabod’s Landing. I decided to go for the fireworks display after going for a hike with some friends earlier in the day. I found a vantage point and settled in – conversing with all the other “tourists” during the wait.. Since I hadn’t tried this before, I just blindly followed the crowd, trusting the wisdom of the mob! We all ended up planted just above the newly created portion of the Westchester River Walk at Ichabod's Landing. To get a good spot, you had to get there early. To a child, (8 comments)
