Scarsdale, NY 10583 had the distinction of earning the number two spot on CNNMoney.com’s top-earning towns survey in 2007 with a median household income of close to $220,000. Living in Scarsdale certainly doesn’t come as cheaply as does in some other municipalities in Westchester However, one certainly doesn’t need over $200k in household income to afford one of the wonderful coops on Garth Rd. A one bedroom coop in Scarsdale can set you back about $200,000 depending on size, condition and complex. My blog on the pet-friendly coop Colchester Hall on Garth Road gives a good overview about the entry level (17 comments)

Fisher Hill of White Plains, NY is a residential neighborhood located on the western edge of White Plains, NY, right up against the Scarsdale border. Heading south, many of the streets merge seamlessly from White Plains into Scarsdale. This neighborhood consists of a mix of single family, and multi-family housing including coops and two-family homes. Many of the homes are turn-of –the-century rambling Victorians, complete with wrap-around porches although a variety of styles from the pre-war period also grace the neighborhood. Although the homes tend to be large, the lot sizes vary, but are relatively small when compared with the size (0 comments)

When clients are looking for high-end single family homes with plenty of green space and old-world charm – Gedney Farms is the first neighborhood that comes to mind in White Plains. Gedney Farms was named after John Gedney who bought the land in 1740. Gedney Farms was a working farm right that remained within the Gedney family right through the Civil War. It has long ceased to be farmland and is now a well established neighborhood. Through much of the Gedney area the zoning is for no more than three homes per acre, so most lots have at least .33 acres (4 comments)

Garth Road in Scarsdale, NY is famous for its coop units. Many people come to me with a specific request for a unit on Garth Rd. Located right off the Bronx River Parkway and just steps from the Scarsdale Train Station, it is easy to understand why. Garth Rd. is convenient to the Village of Scarsdale and all it has to offer. With high –end shopping and first class dining. Being able to leave the car and walk a block or two to the train also holds an enormous advantage. The city is just steps to the train and a 30 (11 comments)

How about a brass quartet playing Christmas Carols?
The TZBridgemen brass quartet provided wonderful music one afternoon. They would make a splendid addition to any special occasion - perhaps a wedding? Bill Losier and the quartet did a splendid job in spite of freezing weather. It is nearly impossible to keep brass instruments in tune when the temperature is so cold - but they did a wonderful job - (4 comments)

Over the holiday season, I have found myself out with my camera more and more often. I found that most of the towns and hamlets were all decked out for the season and offered some wonderful opportunities for interesting pictures. I'll add some captions - but for the most part, I'll let the photos do most of the talking for me.Here are some of my favorite shots (the ones that actually turned out well.)
