Special Times - 10/25/09 08:11 PM
This weekend we had the opportunity to have our granddaughter stay over night. Little Emma is only 5 years old and is super adorable. On Saturday night after spending a afternoon with Grandma and her mother at a play I was sitting watching TV an checking up on emails. Soon I noticed she was standing beside my chair watching what I was doing. Grandpa can we do Disney dress up on the computer? Well you'll have to show me how I said as she climbed into my lap and settled in. She showed me how to do an array of different … (3 comments)

Give a 110% - 10/22/09 09:19 AM
In our profession we deal with people on a daily basis, some days we maybe just don't feel like being friendly and cordial, but in our profession we have to always try to please the client even if sometimes it gets a little tiring to listen to how great they are, or how they know more about our jobs than we do. I know people are educated by the net on homes and prices, but we still or should be more knowledgeable than they are if we have done our homework. I have a couple of rules that I adhere to, … (2 comments)

There is a Sun ! - 10/17/09 07:59 PM
Finally we saw something that we haven't in a long, long , long, time the sun was out today, it wasn't raining for the first time in what seems like decades. It was fun to be able to do some of the chores around the yard that haven't gotten done yet, wash the cars, and a host of other jobs that seem always seem to pop up. As I blogged before the farmers are still waiting for the ground to dry so they can get to the harvest, patience is a virtue but after awhile it seems to run out. Now … (0 comments)

Sioux Falls SD Great Place to live. - 10/15/09 09:29 AM
With parts of the country still recovering from the housing slump we in Sioux Falls are reaping the benefits of a steady to an increasing market. This year in the month of August sales were up 18.1 % over the same month in 2008. This is in part contributed to the First Time Home-buyer Tax credit, in the month of August 36% of the closings were first time home buyers. A couple of the reasons that we have sold so many homes is affordability of homes and the low interest rate, along with Sioux Falls being a great place to live, … (0 comments)

Rain Rain go away - 10/09/09 11:09 AM
Having been on the farm for a number of years and still having a interest in it, this time of the year is super busy with the harvest being taken out so the farmers can reap the benefits of their toils. Except this year, harvest hasn't hardly started because of the relentless rain that keeps giving farmers days off that only lead to extreme stress as the calendar slowly creeps toward the end of the year. I don't miss the stress but I'm still anxious that my brothers can't get the crops out in a timely fashion, when you get this … (3 comments)

Not the end but a new beginning - 10/05/09 09:29 AM
A while back I wrote a blog about a friend of mind that I sold a home to that was in the final stages of cancer. I wrote how he and his wife had planned for the end and made decisions that would ensure that the farming operation would carry on and his wife would be taken care of. This morning I read in the paper that Darwin had passed away. This isn't a great surprise but still hurts to acturally see that it happened. Darwin was one of those people that always made you feel good even if he wasn't. … (1 comments)
