I thought I'd follow up with a little note of appreciation for taking that leap again. 
THIS BUSINESS IS TOO INTENSIVE FOR ONE PERSON.
I hired an assistant about 6 weeks ago and as she "gets it" I get busier.  She is kept in a stack of paperwork and I am constantly going after other business.   
I have 2 listings this week so far, another 2 possible, plus at least 2 on the burner for next. 
This is more fun than I ever imagined.  Everyone should get a good assistant.

We had an very interesting learning experience from our team meeting.  With an outcome surprising and well worth sharing with my friends at AR..
Our Team Coach, Darin Persinger, www.sellshocked.com. Told us how we were behind in our listing Goals and after asking us what we were going to do, (you could say that as an office goes we aren't too big on action.) split us up into two groups.
He challenged us to get as many listing appointments in 45 minutes as possible.  1 point for a call, 5 for an appointment.  He designated me as one of the leaders.

 Foir example I have a group I call my invitees.
 If they are here because of me, then I want to help them get the value out of it that I am. 
Otherwise I have just sent them another thing to sign up for.

I received a call today from a local Realtor in another company.   He had a referral for me- a listing!! 
I was driving so after picking myself off the floor, I continued the conversation as if I hadn't driven over the  curb and run over 3 people and a garbage can. 
It turned out that he is doing development. Why didn't he pick his company?  Because he felt they weren't strong in the area.   So why me? 
We had worked in different offices in the same company.  I know him a bit, and we have a good mutual respect.

I am very interested in hearing from you about how you are finding the market. 
Like many of us, I speak to many across the board in the industry and I really can not get a clear guide from anyone.  There are some who say they are doing great, and I am sure some of those who are not really, it is just the thing to say.
There are others who say the market sucks.  Probably because of 2 things, because their attitude sucks, or because they are not doing the extra things to now necessary to make things good now.

I am exhausted!!  I have spent many hours on AR, learning my way round, writing blogs, posting my listings on listings by address. 
I've got hooked up with the whole points thing and I am nearly addicted.  I have to check my account in the morning and night. I'm up till late, reading and commenting, having fun. 
In fact I only need to post this blog and I go to #2 in Wisconsin.  So then I promise I will back off.

I think I have got a handle on groups, blogs, posts, searches, points, links and invites.  Then listings by addreess, how to download photos, images, widgets, etc.
But pleeeaaassee, can someone tell me what the advantage of associations.
Why would I place my pretty face (humor) on someone else's associations.
Why would anyone else do that to me.
What can then be achieved?

Market update, Sales Stats, Improving trend in Madison Wi - 03/13/07 09:50 PM
 
For the last year.  (I first learnt about this at our 2006 convention, fondly called Family Reunion)  I have been tracking Actives and pendings, week by week.
Did you know you can not look back a year and tell how many homes were on the market, or how many had an offer?   The Realtors tool, the Multiple Listing Service MLS, historically only records Sold and Failed to sell homes.
So where do you get this info? You track it yourself.

Leverage, the difference a good assistant makes - 03/02/07 10:42 PM
It comes to us all, at some point in time.  Some sooner than others.  Some of us resist, kicking and screaming.  "I want control, my clients want me to be handling their sale" etc.
Yes, I am referring to that point in time where the agent gets too busy and starts to spend his waking hours trying to keep up with the business they have generated.  Then what happens?  Lead generation goes down the tubes and then your business follows.    This leads to a roller coaster cycle of ups and downs.

I wanted to start a discussion about the ethics of the practice of our competition spreading lies about us.  What we call lies spread by either ignorance or malice.
