Over a year, Feb to Feb, Home sale prices fell 17% in SCW, even more than the Wisconsin average. Home sales were down 5.5% in Wisconsin, But down 13.2% in Madison’s SCW region.

For over 2 years, I have written about the value of buying in this economy, suggesting now is the best time to buy. It still is!! Thanks to a long term record low interest rate, lower demand and higher level of inventory. The economy still isn’t putting on the jobs and confidence is still holding buyers back. RealEstateGuy Team in Madison Wisconsin today saw some interesting stats to indicate the trends on Foreclosure filing numbers in Dane County. here is a run down of June monthly numbers over 10 years. 2001: 25 2002: 26 2003: 32 2004: 28 2005: 32 2006: 60 2007: 69 2008: 89 2009: 121 2010: 95 Also the last 3 months have trended: April: 157, May: 128, June: 95 Both sets of figures show a down trend of foreclosures, however, we are not sure if this is a blip or a permanent trend.
