Rhinebeck, NY is a wonderful place to live. I know, I have lived here over 30 years. Less than 2 hours from NYC, located along the Hudson River with views of the Catskill Mountains it has been the subject of painters for centuries. Rhinebeck has an easy pace, with lots of great shops, restaurants, local theater, art galleries, and home of the Dutchess Country Fairgrounds that hosts a variety of wonderful events from early spring to late fall. There are some great homes for sale in Rhinebeck right now with prices lower than they have been in years. Interest rates are (0 comments)

General Information Rhinebeck, New York, is a beautiful town located in Northern Dutchess County, New York, in the Hudson River Valley. The whole town of Rhinebeck is like stepping into a museum, with 437 historic locations listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In fact, the village of Rhinebeck itself has been on the National Register since 1979. The town of Rhinebeck was founded in 1686 by four Dutch settlers who acquired the land from Indians and named it Kipsbergen. It was first called "Ryn Beck" in 1713 by Judge Henry Beekman; the Beekman Arms Inn was opened in 1766 (4 comments)

There is a wonderful event in Rhinebeck every year - this will be the 162nd year the Dutchess County Fair has come to the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, NY. It is a long standing tradition of local families as well as visitors who come for all over the the greater New York area to attend the fair. There is wonderful food (as in all the delicious but fattening things you should not eat) such as giant dishes of french fries, fried dough, steak and cheese sandwiches, things made of waffles, cotton candy, the list goes on and on! Rhinebeck, NY Farmers Market - A Great Place to Visit What a wonderful way to spend a lazy Sunday morning! Rhinebeck, NY has many wonderful shops and restaurants every day of the week but on Sundays from Memorial Day to early November the village comes alive with the Farmer's Market. The Farmer's Market in Rhinebeck takes place in the municipal parking lot in the middle of the Village of Rhinebeck from 10A to 2PM. A wide assortment of vendors set up their "wares" and the scene is a feast for the senses. There are wonderful smells, colors, textures, tastes and sounds not to mention (3 comments)
Looking for a great place to take a walk? There are two wonderful places in Northern Dutchess County. The first, Poet's Walk is in Red Hook. The second, Burger Hill Park is in Rhinebeck. This article will focus on Poet's Walk. Poet's Walk, which is owned by Scenic Hudson, is a 120 acre landscape park. The land was formerly part of the estates of The Astors and The Delanos. In 1849 the families hired Hans Jacob Ehlers to create a very special place. Ehlers had beautiful stone walls built on the property and created unique areas that create a feeling (3 comments)
