Here in the Charlotte area, we have been participating in Realtor Care Day for the past few years. 
This is when we give back to the community.  We had over 600 volunteers from the Charlotte area assigned to help needy homeowners with their homes.  We paint, construct, landscape and much more.
I left the house we worked on feeling very satisfied that I helped another person who needed it.
I will definitely do it again next year.

Went out for an early dinner with the wife and kids the other day.  Not really
knowing what we wanted to eat, we headed down I85 south toward
Charlotte in search of what looked good. 
There, in the distance, rising above the trees like a beacon was the sign.  It
was a Red Robin Restaurant.
 

 
 
My wife told me Red Robin is best known for it's burgers.  So, of course, I
ordered the Hawaiian chicken (I have to be different).  It came with two

A few weeks back I took my girls to see a movie at The Gem Theatre in Cannon Village in Kannapolis NC. On the way home, we passed this park and decided to stop in and enjoy the day.

It was a beautiful day for sure. People were enjoying the park in many different ways.
Some were picnicing, some were tossing a frisbee. There were children kicking around a soccer ball while others were riding bikes.

kannapolis nc: Tony Tours the Town - Cannon Village - Kannapolis NC - 04/16/09 11:04 AM
My last post was about seeing a movie at the Gem Theatre in Kannapolis NC. The Gem is in an area known as Cannon Village.
The main shopping area of Cannon Village is a long street with businesses/shops on both sides. Here you will find furniture stores, gift shops, ice cream parlors, churches and much more.

 
 
 
After the movie, we took a leisurely walk down the pavered sidewalk to window shop and occassionally stop in a store.
Every so often, there is a bench to sit on should your footsies get tired.  : )

kannapolis nc: Tony Tours the Town - Gem Theatre - Kannapolis NC - 04/12/09 10:15 AM
Last weekend was so beautiful here in Concord, North Carolina that we decided to go to the movies...
go figure!
While there are many different theatres to choose from, we like to go to the Gem in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
    Gem Theatre
One of the reasons I really like this theatre is because of the outside facade. It reminds me of theatres of old, with the lighted marquee and ticket booth out front. They show only 1 movie at a time.
Tickets are $3.00 for everyone always!! That's a deal!
Once inside, you come to the concession stand. All candies are $1.00...yes! $1.00!
