tony orefice: A Fungus Among Us! - 10/23/09 11:30 AM
After leaving the office one day last week I could see a circle off in the distance up on a hill.
As I got closer, I realized it was a ring of mushrooms.
Immediately thinking I have to post this on Active Rain, I stopped the car, jumped out and snapped the pic.
I thought how odd for them to grow in a circular pattern.
Has anyone ever seen this sort of phenomenon before?
Let's hear about it or better yet if you have a pic of it post it here.

tony orefice: Don't Overlook the Little Guy! - 12/13/08 02:50 PM
I recently had a listing that I took for a list price higher than I advised the sellers should ask for. I know, I broke cardinal rule #1.
They were friends of my wife, so I didn't want to insult them. I advised them, as per comps and new construction in their area, that they should list at $249,900. The husband was so adamant that he not lose money (they paid $250,000 for the house 2 years earlier), that I did as they asked.
We signed a 3 month contract for a list price of $269,000 and I got to work marketing … (7 comments)

tony orefice: Hidden Gems...And the Winners of this week's U-Ewe are..... - 12/10/08 06:29 AM

First, I want to give thanks to
Steve Kappre  for his creation of the U-Ewe!

1. When you receive a U-ewe, your option, if you choose to accept, is to promote two people on Active Rain of your choice. Be it a newcomer, a veteran, a niche marketer, someone you have never met, or anyone else. 2. You will then enter one blog post on these two people, and give 4 great points about that person (remember this is for others, hence the four points). 3. That's pretty much it. Those that get U-Ewe'd would hopefully reciprocate … (8 comments)

tony orefice: The Future of Home Prices - When will they go back up?! - 12/05/08 11:05 PM

When can we expect prices to go back up?  Isn't that the question of the day year?!
The Wall Street Journal surveyed several economists on this subject. Below is what some of them had to say about the future of the Real Estate market:
- home prices will increase at a rate, roughly, 1% higher than the rate of inflation over a period of time.
- house values will rise an average of 4% per year over the next few decades.
- growth will continue in Southern states (woo-hoo!) and coastal cities. However, it will continue to drop in states … (9 comments)
