I love the sense of adventure youth have. Yesterday tree trimmers were over and left a mess all over our yard. After we spent an hour cleaning up the mess my daughter could not resist the temptation to see if she could tunnel through to the other side. She did. Timmothy shortly followed after. This week we JUMPED forward with 19 closings (the most in a week this year) compared to 11 closings last week. Of the homes that closed this week the average days on market was 97 days.
The chart above is the total MLS activity for the week. This includes ALL types of properties as well as all cities in our MLS. The chart below is very restrictive as explained below.

I have to admit that I don't remember my first ride but seeing this young man on his made me smile and imagine just what I may have been thinking.

There are very few "local" events that I feel are worth traveling a thousand miles to or more. I'd even say it's worth taking a plane up to Rollag MN for the Memorial Day weekend to see the LIVING history of the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion. This video is 6 minutes... I know way to long for social media BUT I promise you it's well worth watching. This is an incredible event for every family member. An event organized to highlight Minot's Backpack Buddies program.
The Backpack Buddies program started at Sunnyside Elementary School in Minot (where my Bride teaches). Teachers and parents concerned that some students coming to school on Monday were coming hungry because they had not eaten all weekend. Irregardless of why they were not being feed these loving teachers and parents wanted to be sure those children had something to eat over the weekend. The program quickly spread to all of the Minot elementary schools.

Soo 735 was long over due for a professional make-over. I couldn't tell you how many years the old gal was in service but according to the little monument next to her she has been resting on this very short piece of rail for 60 years.
Soo 735 did have a nearly worthless make-over by some real amateurs a few years back that did nothing more than dump gallons and gallons of paint on her. When I posted about destroying a wasps nest one or more comments were of concern that I had killed the bees. I get that, I understand bees are dying off at an alarming rate BUT wasps can be nasty neighbors when they don't like you being around.
The little fellow to the right is much more to my liking.
I do mean little, from noise to tail he/she is about 2" long.
I think these little bats are cute (as long as they are sleeping). I also understand they eat a lot of insects.

Coming up very soon I and four other business owners are having a Customer Appreciation Event. We decided to make it an outdoor event in Oak Park, Minot's largest and most popular park. I will post more about the event it self very soon.

The government has had it's hands in the Real Estate business for a long long time. I'll admit that some of it has been good for ethics and public safety but some of it has been intrusive as well. I didn't particularly like this headline in yesterdays Minot Daily News.
Realtors in the Minot area have been very fortunate to have the Minot Air Force Base just 12 miles away. Until very recently they have always been short of housing, creating a steady demand for housing here in the BIG city.

My Bride could not resist adding eyes to this slightly deformed tomato.
It's been tomato mania around our house for over a month. The picture below is just today's blessings. I've been trying to keep up, and doing a pretty good job of it, by eating every cherry tomato but I don't think I'm going to be able to do it today. We have been sharing the bigger ones with neighbors and our church family but it's been an awesome crop from just four plants and only three of them have really been producing.

Pressure treated lumber, some times referred to as "green treated" lumber is not the same as maintenance free decking. Treated lumber generally does not need to be painted or stained for up to a year but the main purpose of it being "treated" is to increase it's durability and resistance to wood damaging insects as well as fungus.
If you want actual maintenance free decking you need to go with composite materials or with metal (generally aluminum), both considerably more expensive than wood. Of course there is the good old fashion cement patio too.

All of my social media friends know how proud I am of my kids. I’ve got another proud moment to share with you about Tina, my 16 year old daughter. Rev. Rick Jones, the Chaplin at North Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, Minot ND, is heading up a mission trip to Chile and asked two High School students from our church to join his group, Taylor Benno and Tina Timm (my daughter). Fairly often I am asked if I'm Bruce Willis. What would Bruce Willis be doing in Minot ND. Now we do see Josh Duhamel and even Ferggie here once in awhile walking down the street but Josh was born and raised here in Minot ND. Not Bruce.
As you can see from these side by side photos I don't even remotely resemble Bruce Willis.
See! Not even remotely alike.

The sun has been getting a little lazy these days and waking us up around 7:00AM instead of the 5:30AM awaking we were getting just a month ago. I captured this sunrise on Friday once I got to the office. I'm glad most of the color came through on the photo.
I can imagine how beautiful it would have been had I been out in the country without all the man made objects in the way.

Very few North Dakotian's complain about the length of our summers. Most, like myself, dread seeing these signs of it's demise. The two pictures following were taken in my yard/garden.
All to soon I/we will be seeing this scene...
The last few evenings have been in the 50's and just a 100 miles South of us in the Capital City of Bismarck it's been as low as the 40's. The Fall brings wide swings, like the projected high of 98 for Monday.
It looks like summer is comming to a close, say it isn't so!
