Is it time to dust off the Rose Colored glasses? - 04/26/10 01:54 PM
There are quite a few things taking place in the Panama City, Florida Panhandle area that should have a major impact on our market. The new "Northwest Florida Beaches International" airport is scheduled to be operational on May 23rd. That's less than a month before we start seeing Southwest Airlines flying 4 daily flights into our area. Delta will also be bringing a larger jet into the area. Everything looks to be on track for this opening and I believe that this will really get our area on the map and into the minds of the buyers. St Joe recently announced (5 comments)
Let me do the cooking! - 04/26/10 01:03 PM
My time in the service was spent on submarines (1972-1978), so we did not have to subject ourselves to MRE's (we did steak and lobster!!) but maybe some of you ex marine types can relate to this humor!
Now this is my kind of guy! Unfortunately, my own wife knows my kind of humor making it unlikely she would eat anything I'd prepare for her! Just for info; back in the day, the preferred translation for "MRE" was"Meals Rejected by Ethopians". This is absolutely HILARIOUS..for those of us who have eaten these things,we can definitely understand how she felt-----I had (4 comments)
Compass Lake in the Hills "Barefoot Music Festival" - May 21-22 - 04/25/10 10:36 AM
The Homeowners Association of Compass Lake in the Hills will be hosting a "Barefoot Music Festival" May 21st and 22nd. Headlining this event will be a concert by the group "Shenandoah". This should be a really great event to promote the area to visitors, and the profits will in part be used to help fund the local Volunteer Fire Dept., which is a truly worthwhile venture, and one that is near and dear to my heart, as a Volunteer Firefighter myself, and Chief of our communities Fire Dept. Shenandoah had a string of country and crossover hits in the 1980s and (0 comments)
Southwest Airlines New "Florida One" - 04/25/10 08:44 AM
This is just so awesome! I hope that we will see this beautiful creation flying into the new Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport opening May 23rd in Panama City! Thanks Steve for making this available!
Via Steve Hoffacker - Real Estate Sales & Marketing Consulting and Strategies (Hoffacker Associates LLC): Here is Southwest Airlines newest member of its fleet, launched today. It is "Florida One," and it joins its place among the other commemorative jets that Southwest has done. This is is quite special - just from an artistic standpoint. It was unveiled today, April 23, 2010. It took 8 days (1 comments)
Automated Market analysis are a great tool to use and present to buyers and sellers. But they still require the interpretation by an agent that is familiar with the actual market that you are looking at. The following two tables are the same exact searches for Sunny Hills vacant lots sold since January 1, 2009. Table 1 reports an inaccurate portrayal of the lot sales though, as Sunny Hills lots are typically 1/4 acre in size. The sale on Porter Pond is actually a 14 acre tract that is not even part of the Sunny Hills subdivision. The agent that (0 comments)
Rebate incentive for replacing appliances - 04/08/10 09:17 PM
The time for this program is drawing near. If you are needing to, or thinking about replacing appliances this is a great program to save a little money and help out the planet at the same time.
If you are contemplating the purchase of new appliances, this is a great incentive to help. Of course, we never plan on having our appliances break down at a convenient time, but this could be beneficial if you were thinking of updating your appliances in the near future. I read this information in this months issue of our power companies magazine and took a look (4 comments)

Washington County, Florida residential sales through March 2010 - 04/04/10 05:07 PM
Sales of detached single family and mobile homes YTD for Washington County Florida. Although there were three more sales than the same time last year, average sales prices continue to take a hit. The months of inventory of course is a tremendous concern. The new International airport in Panama City will be open May 23rd. It will certainly be interesting to see the affect that this will have on our local market.
