gillson beach: Wilmette Lakefront Referendum - Gillson & Langdon Parks - Making Sense of It

There is an impassioned debate happening in Wilmette right now over development plans for the Wilmette Park District's Gillson and Langdon beaches. Gillson Beach is 59 acres and Langdon is 3.4 acres. The issue? Repairs and redevelopment versus repairs and less development. Both sides agree that some aging areas of Gillson need to be updated but how much and at what cost are at the heart of the debate. This will be voted on in the upcoming election on Tuesday, April 7, 2015
