Participants and spectators gather around just after high tide to enjoy this spectacular event. Anyone can participate. You must pre-register to be entered as an individual or as a team by age group. Simple rules to this contest. The main goal is to just have fun. Only beach materials may be used to create your masterpiece in the sand. Once the contest is over spectators and participants slowly watch the high tide reclaim the beach and their sculptures.

Milford Oyster Festival Shell Decorating Contest Awards
Annual Milford Oyster Festival, Inc. in conjunction with Coquille Catering is sponsoring an oyster shell decorating contest.
Camp judging will conclude in August with the top three winners in each age group from each camp going to the final city wide judging and display at the Oyster Decorating Booth at Milford Landing at the Annual Milford Oyster Festival on Saturday.
Final Judging will be provided by The Milford Fine Arts Council. Prizes will be awarded at 6:45 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each age group. Prizes are $100 - $50 - $25 gift certificates, and ice cream coupons too!
Over 600 children at The Milford Recreation Department's Si,,er Playground Program will participate at Meadowside, JFK, Calf Pen, Live Oaks, Mathewson and Orange Avenue Elementary Schools. Camps will be provided with oyster shells and supplies to create their oyster work of art.

To get your Pearl Trail Map, just bring a bag of non-perishable food or a $2 donation for the Milford Food Bank down to the Downtown Milford Business Association (DMBA) information booth located at Lisman Landing. Follow the Pearl Trail and visit each shop to collect your free genuine cultured pearls. Once you complete your shopping stroll, you will have enough pearls to complete a necklace or bracelet. Pearl stringing kits are available for purchase at the DMBA information booth located at Lisman Landing..

Join us in Milford for our annual Milford Oyster Festival. Every year on the third Saturday in August the young and old gather round to celebrate The Milford Oyster Festival. Festival visitors have a choice of fun activities which range from entertainment for children, music, harbor canoe and kayak races, over 200 arts and crafts vendors from around the country exhibiting on the Milford Green, a classic car show and lots of food offered by local non-profit civic organizations. The Milford Oyster festival is the perfect event for many non-profit organizations to raise money. Stop by The Milford Green or The Milford Harbor. Shuttle buses are provided for free. Milford is also easy accessible via The Metro North Railroad and I-95

The 22nd annual New England Arts and Crafts Festival's Chalk of Fame competition is looking for chalk artists to use sidewalk blocks as their canvass this weekend on the Milford Green in Milford, CT.
The competition is 10:30 am to 2:30 pm Saturday (rain date is Sunday), with cash-prize winners will be announced at 3 pm!
The festival committe supplies red, white and blue chalk, and artists are encouraged to bring pastels and chalks of their choice.
Sidewalk sizes are 58-inches square and run across and diagonally on the Green.
Each square represents one entry, which can be either an individual artist or a small team, but all participants on the team must be in the same age category.
Entry fee is $5. A registration form can be downloaded by going to www.milfordarts.org, clicking on the 22nd annual New England Arts & Crafts Festival link, where complete rules are available.
Registration also can be done starting at 10 am the day of the competition at the MFAC booth.

Orange will be having a fireworks display and a concert featuring "The Jumpers". Fireworks will follow at approximately 9:40 p.m. Rain date is July 3. The cost is $3 for parking. Come and enjoy music, arts and entertainment.
This event takes place at The Orange Fair Grounds on Orange Center Road in Orange, CT. Bring the family and enjoy the fun and entertainment.
