home price: Home Prices In O.C. Double In Last Decade - 01/02/10 06:41 AM
Home prices throughout Orange County doubled last decade. 

A median selling price for all residences in Orange County in 2000-2009 was $431,000 –roughly double the same pricing of the 1990s.
The decade produced a compound annual price gains of 7.5%.  Even with the buying frenzy that occurred mid-decade, total sales were up just 8% this decade compared to last. 
Homebuilder sales fell by roughly 20,000 residences in the decade, or 28%.
Condos were the residence to buy, especially as prices soared. Decade’s re-sales were up 44%!

La Habra was the only Orange County City represented in the States Top 10 cities with a median home price gain in the
 month of October.  La Habra saw a 16.2% jump in prices compared to a year ago.
Throughout Orange County the overall median price in October was down 1.3% from September at $490,290 but the median price was almost the exact same price as it was in October of 2008. Home sales were up 4% from October and up 0.1% from September.

home price: LA/OC Home Prices Up For 2nd Consecutive Month - 10/03/09 09:05 AM
<!--StartFragment--> For the second month in a row LA/OC home prices were up, last month they rose 1.8%.
In a study done on 20 U.S cities the composite home price index was up 1.65% compared to June.  This was the 3rd consecutive month-to-month gain.  13 of the cities studied had at least 3 months of positive pricing.
The rate of annual decline in home price values continues to slow down and many markets are now seeing sustained monthly increases.  These figures continue to back up the idea that national real estate values are beginning to stabilize.

home price: Could Home Prices Not Rebound Until 2030? - 09/02/09 02:53 PM
An economist at the Moody’s credit-rating agencies released a new report stating that home prices will not return to its old peak before 2030. 

The report is based on the assumption that local housing will average annual gains for 2.7% for the next 21 years from January’s cyclical median-price low of $370,000.
There was a 3.6% annualized gain ending in July.  Prices have exactly doubled since July 1898 – when another buying frenzy ended in a depression.  From the last cycle’s bottom (January 1996) to new peak (April 1998) the annualized gain from the bounce was 8.5%.

home price: Median Home Price To Increase 8% In 2010 - 08/25/09 02:56 PM
The California Credit Union League released their forecast for the housing market.  They see some stabilization coming in late 2009 with an increase of home sales especially in the lower priced segment of the market.

 
The CCUL expects the median home price to increase by 8% in early 2010 throughout Los Angeles and Orange County.  Home sale increases will likely begin with the coastal regions of the state.  They expect the state of California as a whole to have a 5% increase in their median price by 2010.
