On here you will probably read many rumors that you've once heard about the Mormon church, and didn't know that it actually was not true.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Rumor #1:&nbsp; Many Mormon's support the practice of Poligomy, because it was practiced by the church's early leaders.</p> <p>This rumor is false.&nbsp; The practice of Poligomy was done by prophets such as Brigham Young, and Joseph Smith, but not as part of the religion.&nbsp; The reason it was done was because back in the 19th Century women were forbidden to own many imporant resources such as land.&nbsp; It had to be in the name of their husband.&nbsp; After this was changed the practice of Poligomy was banned by the church in 1893 and hasn't been practiced since.&nbsp; The one's who practice it are Mormon Fundamentalists, who have the same foundation and early teachings, but not members of the same religion.</p> <p>Rumor #2: The LDS Church supported segregation in the past by not letting Black's to be allowed to have the same positions.</p> <p>The Black race was never prohibited from joining the religion.&nbsp; What people are thinking of is that they couldn't hold preisthood positions until 1978, and this was not because the church was racist or prejudice.&nbsp; Many people have their different theories about why this was done, the most likely reason is that it would endanger the safety of the religion and its members since in the days of Martin Luther King Jr. there were many riots and burning down of churches in which Blacks were leading members of.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Rumor #3:&nbsp; Mormon's believe in having large families like in the days of old.</p> <p>This is just a stereotype.&nbsp; There are many large families in the church, and many single people or single couples in the church, just like any other common religion.</p> <p>Rumor #4:&nbsp; The LDS religion is not Christian, many leading members such as Joseph Smith and Brigham Young denied had preached that the Christian religion was wrong because they got a sign from the spirit from it.</p> <p>This is also not true.&nbsp; We believe in Christ just as we believe in Heavenly Father.&nbsp; What people are probably referring to is when Joseph Smith was 14 he prayed asking which church to join, and the angel Moroni appeared before him and said not to join any because all of them were wrong.&nbsp; The restaurant is a very formal setting and the prices that you see on the menu could give you the impression that you will have an enjoyable meal.&nbsp; However, when I had dined there with a friend of mine, we had only ordered one main dish each and an appetizer for the both of us to share.&nbsp; There was a group of about eight people sitting close to us, and the rest of the restaurant was empty.&nbsp;&nbsp; It took us about 3 hours until we were served our order.&nbsp; We were trying to be patient since we weren't in a hurry, but it didn't seem logical to have to wait that long when it didn't seem very busy there, since it was on a Wednesday night.&nbsp; We&nbsp;thought maybe that&nbsp;Phiner could have been short staffed that night, until we found out from another source that she chooses to have a very limited staff for a restaurant that requires much more help than it was getting.&nbsp; We also were a little concerned that it took between 30-45 minutes just to be served a smoothie that we ordered.</p> <p>The food was fairly enjoyable except for the appetizer that we ordered which was a crab cake.&nbsp; We were able to tell by the sight and taste that it was no different than an instant crab cake which is cooked in a microwave, which was later confirmed by an employee&nbsp;that is was cooked in a microwave.&nbsp;&nbsp; The food is very expensive, and we had our server kindly ask that we can get either a discount or a credit for our next visit due to our wait, and Phiner didn't accomodate us.&nbsp;&nbsp; We had met&nbsp;Phiner when she came out to introduce herself, but she didn't even apologize for us having to wait very long, and we found out from other customers who we know that our wait time was quite typical in her restaurant.</p> <p>We had also found out from a server who is currently employed there that they have lost customers before, because when they walk in they are not even greeted, and they end up leaving because they sit there for between 5-10 minutes without any acknowledgement that they are present.</p> <p>Ultimately, we did have an enjoyable evening, but it was not because of the service from Phiner.&nbsp;
