What Does WWW Really Stand For? - 03/29/09 10:43 PM
What does WWW really stand for? You think World Wide Web, don't you? Ahhh....think again! What it really stands for is:
Will You Want It In Writing.....FOR EVER!
Yep! Mr. Google and Ms. WWW have a strange way of remembering things.....forever!
It reminds me of a line from the movie Beaches, with Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey. They are sitting at the beachhouse talking about Bette having a long memory and Barbara says, "I'm counting on it."
That would be Mr. Google and Ms. WWW.
Here's a perfect example. I was checking up on "self" and what was appearing about me … (13 comments)

Are You a Community REALTOR, or a REALTOR in your Community? - 03/29/09 10:54 AM

The Midtown Atlanta Real Estate market is challenging these days. But then again, most every market is.
If you are a REALTOR, how do you know your market is challenged? Do you watch the local news? (Remember, real estate IS LOCAL!) Do you watch your local listing service daily? Maybe you have a listing that is not moving.
But, what if you are Seller? How do you know how the market is? Do you base it on the number of showings your home has? How quickly your home did (or did not) sell?
What's the difference between being a Community REALTOR … (5 comments)

Midtown Atlanta Welcomes Park Tavern Crawfish Festival - Saturday - 03/27/09 02:53 PM

In Midtown Atlanta, it seems we are never at a loss for a festival! In fact, some of our residents even complain about it! (Another Blog Topic!) If it’s not Halloween, it’s Cinco De Mayo. Or the upcoming Dogwood Festival next month.
But for this Saturday, it’s Park Tavern’s Oyster Crawfish Festival! Some 4,000 pounds of those little red things will be available for your munching pleasure. A large platter of Louisiana crawfish, potatoes and corn, finished off with Cajun spices will only cost you $10!
Now that sounds like a deal to me, but I’ve never understood … (2 comments)

YES! He IS Alive And Well! (Diary of the Missing REALTOR and His Blog) - 03/15/09 09:39 AM
There's one good thing (OK, there are a million things great about Active Rain) about the blog stats we can look at here on AR....it reminds us we have gone missing! Now, how did THAT happen?
Was he sick in bed? Nope...thank goodness. He was just busy working with they buyers that have finally realized...."Real Estate IS On Sale" and now would be a good time to buy!
Now, I have to say, one buyer was, well, "trying my nerves" in trying to find him what he wanted in the price he wants! I showed him a beautiful condo on the … (3 comments)

Saturday's Food For Thought - 03/07/09 07:53 PM

It was an awesome day in Atlanta today! (So you say, where's the Atlanta picture then?) Good Question! Maybe because I was in the office for part of the day, then visiting with a candidate for Mayor of Atlanta, and then it was finally to the 'burbs and my house for some projects that have needed attention!
As I looked for a picture for Today's "Food For Thought" I thought this reminded me of how beautiful today was...and how I probably took it for granted being caught up in "stuff."
Stuff. It's a problem, this stuff. It needs more … (11 comments)

Midtown Atlanta Real Estate -- In Art! - 03/06/09 08:14 AM
Last night, Ray and I attended an Art Show in Midtown Atlanta that featured the works of up and coming local artists. Nothing like a good art show to chat with people. One of the featured artists was Midtown's own Peggy Denby. Peggy's art on canvas is quite unique. While some of her "works" are full paintings, others are a combination of photos and painting. If you take a look at the photo below, you will see what a unique art piece this is....

I worked with Peggy and her husband, Don, to sell their Midtown Townhome at The … (7 comments)

It's A Buyers Game! Are you IN or OUT? (Part 4) - 03/04/09 09:28 AM

Yes, it certainly appears that Midtown Atlanta Real Estate and many other parts of the country will be a Buyers' market for sometime to come. And for you to be IN that market, or "game" as I've titled this series, you need to be armed with some powerful tools.
Let's recap some of those tools we've discussed so far.  In Part 1, How to Choose Your Real Estate Agent, we talked about the importance of this "tool."  The right agent will make all the difference in finding the right home for you and guiding you through a successful and smooth real … (4 comments)

Snow And No Internet For 5 Hours! Winter - Atlanta Style! - 03/01/09 11:31 PM
Now, I'm sure there must be a support group that I can sign up for! No Internet access for some 5 hours today! I actually had to watch movies, and then.....BAM...out went the power! Then, I had to actually read a book! Can you imagine? I've got a little clip light, so I found it, put it on the book and read a few more pages of Tribes by Seth Godin.
But, I did whip out my Flip Video camera (which I bought in November and still have not worked into my marketing and blogging plans) and thought you might enjoy … (4 comments)
