Yes, you heard that right! There are new construction cranes in Midtown Atlanta! A welcome sight for a troubled economy indeed!
One of those Midtown Atlanta construction cranes is at 10th and Williams Street (Or the Downtown Connector) where the new Hilton Garden Inn/Homewood Suites hotel is under construction!  What a beautiful building that will be to visitors arriving into Midtown via the 10th Street Bridge! It’s convenient to all the Midtown Atlanta law offices, and to Turner Broadcast Systems (TBS) and the new GATech Basketball stadium!
Construction Cranes are also appearing on the Midtown Atlanta skyline at two new luxury high-rise apartment buildings that … (0 comments)

midtown atlanta businesses: HELLO? Really? Is THAT How you Answer YOUR Phone? - 05/17/11 10:37 PM
So, I've got out-of-town clients in looking for a rental property. Today I was making some last minute arrangements for showings. In our listing service, you have several options for numbers to call. One can be the owner directly, or that same field might say, Call Listing Agent.
Then there are fields for a direct number, as well as the number of the actual brokerage office, as required by law.
Most of us in real estate (actually I hope ALL of us) operate with cell phones. They are an extension of our arms quite frankly. It's how we do business, and … (15 comments)

Who doesn't need to know where the Home Depot  is that is closest to your home? Of course if you live in a house, you might have more of a need for trips to the orange store. But, Where Is The Home Depot For Midtown Atlanta?
While we actually have one in Midtown, options are always a good thing. the Midtown Home Depot is located at 650 Ponce De Leon Avenue. This shopping center is also "home" to Whole Foods, Office Depot and Petsmart! There is also a new CVS that has just recently been opened.
The second Home Depot option … (2 comments)

midtown atlanta businesses: Midtown Atlanta Hotel Palomar to Become a Marriott - 03/04/11 03:24 PM
In using some of the social media tools I have neglected as of late, I'm learning things about Midtown Atlanta that I either knew about already, or I'm getting additional information about.
I can't find the original source of the story, but I saw in Google Alert that the Pacci Restaurant in the Hotel Palomar Midtown Atlanta was closing. That was followed by the informtion that the Thayer Lodging Group purchased the leasehold interest for the 21-story, 304-room hotel that was completed in 2009. Thayer already dismissed San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, the management company behind the Palomar hotel as … (1 comments)

COSTCO Comes To Midtown Atlanta...Well Almost at TOWN Brookhaven!
In today's economy, I don't know WHO would NOT be looking to save a dollar or two. Ok, I suppose there are a couple out there somewhere.
It is no secret that buying in volume saves you money. And grocery shopping is no execption. The warehouse grocery is not a new concept by any means, but when you suddenly don't have to drive 8-10 miles to get to one, but can get there in 4 miles...well that's worth writing about.
When I say COSTCO Comes To Midtown Atlanta it got pretty … (6 comments)

midtown atlanta businesses: Tin Lizzy Cantina - Midtown Atlanta It's Yum Yum! - 09/25/10 10:23 PM
Tin Lizzy Cantina - Midtown Atlanta It's Yum Yum!
My restaurant visits are not what they use to be. But I do get an opportunity to sample things as I plan the monthly Mingle In Midtown, a social happy hour for the Midtown Neighbors' Association. A new restaurant had opened in Midtown, so I quickly reached out to the owner, Andy McKoski about hosting our event.
This is not the first Tin Lizzy. They have locations on Memorial Drive and Piedmont Road in Buckhead. But the addition of Tin Lizzy Midtown Atlanta is awesome. First off, it's in a great location … (8 comments)

From Saturday, September 4 - Sunday, September 12, you will be able to enjoy a $25 three-course, prix fixe dinner at some 30, yes, count them THIRTY restaurants!! How cool is that! Now, as a disclaimer, I must first say that not all of these restaurants are IN Midtown Atlanta....so not sure exactly how … (3 comments)

Top 50 Tallest Buildings in the United States
Let the truth be known...I have a love affair with the Internet. I mean, come on, you can hit up your friend Mr. Google, and it's amazing what he will find for you.
Really, HOW DID WE live before him/her? Oh, we had encyclopedias.....right.
Perfect case in point....I ran across this amazing site today with some photos of some amazing buildings right here in the U.S. Did you have any idea what the Top 50 Tallest Buildings in the United States are?
While I suspect many of us don't "trade" in these big … (2 comments)

midtown atlanta businesses: Midtown Atlanta Luxury Hotel Announced - 04/10/10 12:46 PM
Well, this could be a sign of better times ahead? Just when you thought no one would stick a shovel in the ground, it was reported in the Atlanta Business Chronicle on Friday that the site of the once proposed One Museum Place condominium at 1301 Peachtree Street is changing hands.
Alvin D. James, a veteran broadcasting industry executive has agreed to purchase the property from the prominent Atlanta builder, John Wieland, CEO of John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods, Inc. As the Atlanta housing market took a nose dive in 2007, Wieland scrapped his plans for a 23-story, 92-unit condo tower.

midtown atlanta businesses: Atlanta's Clermont Hotel Ordered Closed By Years' End! - 12/17/09 05:58 PM
Atlanta's Clermont Hotel Ordered Closed By Year's end means I may have missed my opportunity to visit a landmark Atlanta dive.

This infamous hotel had been known for its strip club with overweight, older strippers. The club will remain open as it operates under a different license and is leased to a different person.
The Fulton County Health Department sited everything from mold to black water from faucets as the reasons for the closing.
The building has been in a state of disrepair, and the previous owner had tried to sell it at one time. The commercial real estate market, and the … (3 comments)

midtown atlanta businesses: Cook's Warehouse Grand Opening at Ansley Mall - 11/16/09 09:12 AM
This past Friday, Ray and I had the opportunity to attend Cook's Warehouse Grand Opening at Ansley Mall. For those of you that are not aware of this move, Cook's Warehouse was formerly located in the Amsterdam Walk shopping area off of Monroe Drive.
This new location, gives the store a whole new look, and a great location, next to Blockbuster Video and just around the corner from.....a Publix Market! See, you can buy that standing rib roast, and then when you are on your way to the car and realize you don't have a roasting pan, there's Cook's Warehouse!
If you … (4 comments)
