My name is Courtney Rumrill and I am a Realtor with RE/MAX Bell Park.  I would like to take this opportunity to tell you all about an innovative effort to increase affordable homeownership opportunities for theEastern Connecticut workforce.  I am talking about the HOME FROM WORK campaign.  The National Association of Realtors is partnering with the Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors on a campaign for employers and Realtors (such as myself) to increase homeownership opportunities for fist time home buyers.  The home form work campaign provides opportunities for workforce families to become first time home buyers and own a home of there own.  As well as helping employers play a stronger role in building and sustaining there community.  Through the work from home campaign participating employers are able to offer there employees employer assisted housing.  Employer assisted housing (EAH) is a benefit program provided by employers to help achieve business objectives while helping their employees with their housing needs.  The campaign strategy promotes homeownership opportunities for workforce families by providing access to housing information through home buying workshops, comprehensive one on one counseling, and financial benefits.  With a home from work EAH benefit plan in place, employers can choose to offer one or all of the benefits previously listed.  If you or an employer you know suffer from problems with recruitment, retention, recognition, employee relationships, or return you may want to consider implementing an EAH benefit plan.  I am trained and certified by the National Association of Realtors to help you do just that.
