As bright as the morning sun - 05/27/12 07:32 AM
Though it was a windy day, this little flower stood tall and true. Now there was a field of these, but this is the only one that was standing true and not being blown around by the strong winds we were having. You see it was hiding behind a tree and was being blocked by the wind.
So, of course since it was standing so still and was so bright, I had to get a picture of it, to help show the beauty of Spring in Oregon.

We had a new friend at our basement door - 05/26/12 06:46 PM
What a surprise we had today, there at our basement door we had a visitor. Now, this is a door probably hasn’t even been opened in 20 years. But, as we headed out to the backyard, we spotted this little one out of the corner of our eye. We sat there and talked to our friend and took pictures for more than 30 minutes until our new friend fell asleep. That was when we decided to leave her alone. I guess it got out that I’m in to saving these little ones and wouldn’t mind them coming over to stay.

The rainbow before the storm - 05/26/12 07:57 AM
Now, yesterday I caught this great shot of this rainbow and then within 5 minutes we had a lot of thunder and lightning. Now, I won’t like I was really hoping for that National Geographic moment when I got a picture of lightning behind the rainbow, but that never happened.
So, enjoy the rainbow and maybe next time I can name it the rainbow during the storm.

Happy Memorial Day… I’m not so sure - 05/25/12 09:51 AM
I hear and see it all the time… Happy Memorial Day with people saying it and signs announcing it with sales, but is this really a time to be happy? Yes, I am happy for my freedom, but I’m sad and want everyone else to remember what this day is really about.
Memorial Day isn’t a day to be happy, but a day to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom.

So, thank you to those who lost their lives and to those families who gave up their family members for my freedom.

OK, as many of you know we homeschool our children and I wouldn’t ever consider changing our minds on that. Especially when she does things like this! Today her homework assignment was to write a haiku and this is what she came back with.
Meesha is awesome
But she does not like writing
Do not make her write
Now, I’m sorry, but that is funny! In public school I’m pretty sure she would get in trouble for writing that! But, instead, I’m giving her a GOLD STAR!

Practice makes perfect, way to go son! - 05/21/12 08:15 PM

I have to say congrats to my son who tried pitching for the first time this year. Coach gave him his shot and he did pretty good I would say.. The first 6 pitches resulted in 2 strike outs and the 7th one was hit right to him and he threw the guy out at first. Way to go son, I see a bright future ahead of you on the pitchers mound, goes to show you that practice makes perfect.

hunting for buried treasure on the Oregon Coast - 05/20/12 05:35 PM

The Oregon Coast, what a great place to find burried treasure! Now, not all the treasure is gold as my son soon found out, but hey, you never know what you are going to find. He found a lot more nails from pallets that were burned during campfires than gold, but he never did give up!

It is true, we didn’t have to go to Radiator Springs or break down to meet Tow Mater, he came to us, right here in Beaverton, Oregon. Every Friday night there is a car show at the corner of 174th and Farmington next to the Dairy Queen and this week were lucky enough to be graced by the presence of Tow Mater himself. He did seem to be the hit of the car show this week.

As we were coming back from Softball last night, who should we see along the side of the road? Now, unfortunately mom was on the other side of the fence and this little one couldn't make the jump. 
But, don't worry my daughter and I blocked traffic until mom could come rescue baby and show this little one the way around the fence.

Oh, the sun has finally come out here in Oregon and we have had a lot of it. Almost 2 weeks without a drop of rain now and the flowers are starting to bloom and my camera is really starting to get the dust taken off of it.
This marigold was just popping out to say hello on day 4 of the sun and I had to take its picture, it didn’t seem to mind as it held still for the entire photo shoot.

When I got in to the real estate back in 1993, I was taught that the way to get business was to farm, door knock and repeat business. But, then after a year of that and not really digging my feet in as I had envisioned from the promises I was getting I had to figure out something else.

Now, as if you can’t figure out that I love baseball, I’m here to tell you I do and lucky for me, so do my kids. This is my youngest and I’m proud to say the best one on her team, she can hit, catch and outrun anyone else on the team… She is a serious player!

Not all mushrooms look or taste the same - 05/12/12 09:35 PM
I love mushrooms, but I also know that I won’t be caught out in the wild picking them unless I’m with someone who knows what to look for as not all mushrooms are the same. Some mushrooms are perfectly good to eat, while others can kill you!

Now, I’m not sure if these will, but I just thought they were different and in their own way beautiful, so I brought out the camera and enjoyed what months of rain brought us here in Oregon.

Everyone is starting to come out to enjoy the sun - 05/10/12 08:29 PM
We have had a week of wonderful weather here in Beaverton, Oregon and are expected to through the weekend. The reports say that Monday could even come close to 90 degrees! For those of you who know Portland, we maybe only get 10-15 90 degree plus days a year. But, as you can see everyone is starting to come out and enjoy the sun.

One thing about Oregon is we have wet winters, but when the sun does arrive, the plants slowly come to life and prepare to bare their fruit for us. Today for the 2nd day in a row the sun came out and I spotted this guy in our backyard. This means in a couple months if we are lucky I will be able to have my first sugar free blackberry pie.

As many of you know I have been helping a no kill ferret shelter for the past 14 years by being Santa at Santa Paws, being the DJ for their annual fundraiser “Wessels Dancing in the Park” and in any other way I can help them.
Recently while at one of my networking events I was talking to one of my friends and the subject of his mom came up.
