beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks (A place for kids and family) - 10/22/11 11:53 AM
Beaverton Oregon Parks are green, well taken care of and have something for just about everyone in the family to enjoy. Depending on the park you go to you can get the traditional swing all the way to Frisbee Golf. Below is a list of all the wonderful Beaverton Oregon Parks that I have done reviews on and this list will increase as I do more. Hope you enjoy them as much as my family did when we went to them. beaverton oregon parks: Raleigh Park and Swim Center in Beaverton, Oregon is another AWESOME park within the Tualatin Parks and Recreation District - 09/21/10 02:38 PM
Raleigh Park and Swim Center in Beaverton, Oregon, is one of those places that we discovered thanks to our new found love for Geocaching. Geocaching is helping us find many new business, parks and even little hidden gems with neighborhoods, that we just wouldn’t know about if we hadn’t started Geocaching. But, back to Raleigh Park and Swim Center and why it is such an awesome park. There are many great reasons this is a great park, but for many families when you go to a park you aren’t allowed to bring your best friend. Not Raleigh, it is dog

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: A.M. Kennedy - 02/20/10 10:02 AM
Beaverton Oregon Parks: A.M. Kennedy - By Todd Clark When it comes to good, little, Beaverton, Oregon, Parks, A.M Kennedy delivers. This is a medium size park, but it had different equipment for all the kids. It had a place to play with the dog and even a place in the shade for parents to sit. I think the only thing this park was missing was, once again, the thing even the biggest parks in Beaverton seem to be missing, and that is a bathroom. But, this park is a nice park that I will be taking my family back to, mainly

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks – Willow Creek Nature Park - 02/08/10 12:49 PM
Beaverton Oregon Parks – Willow Creek Nature Park - By Todd Clark Are you looking for a little exercise and a place you can take the whole family? This is the park for you. This hiking trail is something you can have your kids bring their bike, scooter, or even roller skates, like our 5 year old did today, and not have to worry about them getting dirty no matter how much it has rained recently. You see, Willow Creek Nature Park is walking path that is either paved or a wooden foot bridge the entire way. Not once

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: Hyland Forest Park - 06/23/09 12:24 PM
Hyland Forest Park in Beaverton, Oregon, is certainly one of the hidden gems of Beaverton. How hidden? 15 years ago, I lived two blocks from this park and didn’t even know it was there. Now, there is a possibility that 15 years ago it wasn’t an official park, but I still wish I had known about the walking trails. This park isn’t one with a play structure or bathroom, but it does seem to have endless walking trails. My kids loved this park and if it wasn’t coming up on dinner time, I’m not sure we wouldn’t have stayed

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: Sexton Mountain Park - 06/22/09 12:18 AM
Beaverton is full of many great parks and Sexton Mountain Park would be no exception, with a play structure, some sort of track for parent to exercise on and even a basket ball court. But, there is one thing that Sexton Mountain Park lacks, and that is parking! There is NONE! So unless you live within walking distance of this park, don’t bother even driving to it, because the streets are very narrow and every one of them has a no parking sign. I ended up not even taking my kids to this park because of the parking situation. I

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: Whispering Woods in the Lexington Neighborhood of Beaverton Oregon - 05/20/09 12:44 PM
I love Whispering Woods. This park is part of the amazing parks system in the Beaverton area. This park was within walking distance of my last home and for some reason, despite it not having any playground equipment, this was a favorite of the neighborhood kids and mine. This little park has some great walking paths, bridges, and even a picnic table for you to sit at and have a quiet lunch by yourself. As you can gather from the name, it is a very wooded park and completely in the shade. This is something that appeals to

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: Rosa Park in the Aloha Neighborhood of Beaverton Oregon - 05/18/09 11:09 PM
Rosa Park is one of many great parks in the Aloha Neighborhood of Beaverton, Oregon, and is part of the Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation Department. This park features walking trails, playground equipment, tennis courts, and even a small stream running through the middle of it. One thing I really like about this park over some of the other parks in Beaverton is that is completely covered by trees. Even during the heat of the day, it still remained rather cool sitting at the picnic table watching the kids play on the equipment before baseball. If you are looking for a

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: Burntwood Park in the Hart Neighborhood of Beaverton Oregon - 05/05/09 02:10 AM
Burntwood is the last in the series of parks that goes from north to south through the Hart Neighborhood of Beaverton, Oregon, making one gigantic park for families, pets and individuals a like find something to do, be it walk, play with their dogs, or just watch their kids play on the equipment. The four parks in the series are, Summercrest Park, Hart Meadows Park, Summercrest East Park and then Burntwood. Burntwood Park didn’t seem to have any playground equipment, bathrooms, or walking paths, but what I think would be enjoyable about this park is just sitting under the many trees

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: Summercrest East Park (In the Hart neighborhood of Beaverton Oregon) - 05/04/09 01:00 PM
Summercrest East is just one of the strip parks along Beaverton that follow the power lines through Beaverton. But this particular park is part of the series of four parks, three which make a long strip along the power lines and Summercrest Park heads off to the west of the strip. The other two parks in the strip are Hart Meadows Park and Burtwood Park, making one gigantic park, which is great for exercising and just spending the day. Toward the middle of the park there are two tennis courts for you to get some exercise at, if you

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: Summercrest Park (In the Hart neighborhood of Beaverton) - 05/03/09 11:42 AM
Summercrest is a part of a parks system in Beaverton, Oregon, that connects with other parks in the area. Those parks include Summercrest East, Hart Meadows Park, and Burntwood Park creating one gigantic park, great for exercising and just spending the day. Summercrest Park, in the Hart Neighborhood of Beaverton, is just a series of walking trails and doesn’t have any benches, or bathrooms, but it does have the bridge you see in the photos below so the walk or run is worth it. But, because it does connect with the other parks that have tennis courts, swings, playground equipment, and

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: Beacon Hills Wetlands Park (In the Sexton Mountain Neighborhood) - 05/02/09 01:59 AM
If you are just looking for a place to sit down relax and read a book without interruption, then this is the park for you. The Beacon Hills Wetlands Park is located in the Sexton Mountain neighborhood of Beaverton, Oregon, and I have to say when I stopped off here, without the kids, because I had a headache, that just sitting here the time quickly disappeared. I just sat there and watched two ducks. They flew away after awhile and that is when I realized maybe it was time for me to depart as well because my headache was gone.

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: Hart Meadows Park in the Hart Neighborhood - 04/30/09 02:40 AM
Hart Meadows Park is a medium sized park right in the middle of the Hart Neighborhood of Beaverton, Oregon. The good thing about this park is it is rather large and open making it a great place to take you dog and let it run and play catch without having to worry about the ball going too far. There is also some great playground equipment there that the kids loved to play on, and because it wasn’t too hot today, they played for almost an hour. I could see this park being a problem during the summer with no shade.

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: Buckskin Park (In the Greenway Neighborhood) - 04/20/09 02:09 AM
I would say spring has officially arrived today in the Beaverton, Oregon, Parks. Today my family and I spent some time at Buckskin Park in the Greenway Neighborhood of Beaverton, Oregon. Now, this park was fun for the kids and I have to say they didn’t actually want to leave. It had a picnic table where we could have lunch and leave our water bottles. We didn’t see any other families while we were there and the kids didn’t get to hot because the trees kept the park pretty shaded. (Even my wife who burns easily didn’t burn as we

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: Forest Glen Park in the Greenway Neighborhood - 04/12/09 04:14 AM
Normally I will say something at least a little good about all the Beaverton, Oregon, parks I visit in Beaverton, Oregon, but I can’t do this on this park. Forest Glen Park is a little “park” that I think was a flag lot that was given back to the city after it was foreclosed on for non-payment of taxes, and they just decided to put a sign up instead of trying to do something else with it. There is no playground equipment, no bathrooms, no picnic beaches or even a place to sit. This is what I call a lawn that

beaverton oregon parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks: Wildhorse Park in the Greenway Neighborhood - 04/08/09 02:18 PM
Wildhorse Park is what the City of Beaverton calls a mini park. A mini park is a park that is nothing more than a small greenspace where they have put park benches, playground equipment, or something to improve the community. Wildhorse Park is located off Davies Road in the Greenway neighborhood of Beaverton. Even though it’s a mini park, the playground equipment is big enough that a family can spend 30 – 45 minutes playing without getting board. The only drawback that my family found with this park is that there are no trees to shade you from the

beaverton oregon parks: Fir Grove Park in Beaverton, Oregon - 01/22/08 01:35 PM
Fir Grove Park in Beaverton, Oregon is a smaller park I, personally, wouldn't say much bigger than a track at a high school. But, if you want to get a way from the track and have a circle to run around, then this park might work for you. It certainly would give you a change of scenery. For the kids it has slides, swings, and even some monkey bars for the kids to play on. Despite it being a smaller park, my kids really enjoyed it and really didn't want to leave. For the parents, it has a nice bench behind

beaverton oregon parks: Tualatin Hills Nature Park & Interpretive Center (Another reason to relocate to Beaverton, Oregon) - 11/07/07 09:50 AM
Tualatin Hills Nature Park and Interpretive Center is a 220 acre wildlife preserve in Beaverton, Oregon and one of the only drawbacks to this park is that you can't bring dogs. Kids even love it despite it not having any playground equipment. This park has so much to see and touch that boredom just never hits. This park had trail after trail and is such a large park it really does require a map if you ever want to get back to your car. beaverton oregon parks: Commonwealth Lake Park in Beaverton, Oregon (Another reason to relocate) - 10/24/07 02:26 PM
Commonwealth Lake Park in Beaverton, Oregon is another attraction in Beaverton that the whole family can enjoy. The park is hidden within a neighborhood and is really difficult to find, and unless you know its there, you would never find it. But, with its trout filled lake, walking paths, playground, soccer field, and nature you can get right darn close to, it has something for everyone. Its not often you can find a fishing spot within 5 minutes of home in a major city, but thanks to the City of Beaverton and their creation of Commonwealth lake, it gives you a
