camping: When doing a camping vacation you sometimes don’t know what to expect - 11/09/10 03:55 PM

I have to say our first night of our vacation was a little rough, we decided to go to a little campground we found on the old iphone and getting there at 11pm was the first part of our mistake. Even though I probably wouldn’t have stayed there had I went there during the day, I did get some great shots out of it. But, for the record don’t turn around are you too might go... uhhhh.

camping: Sometimes kids just leave you shaking your head! - 10/05/10 06:12 PM

OK, I admit it, my Jeep got a little dirty over the past couple weeks with taking it on a little 4x4 challenge and camping. But, when I came downstairs to go out and show homes the other day it had some writing on the back window. Now, I knew it had to be one of my kids as it was in the garage the whole time.

So, I checked out the writing and it said “Hi Tascha” in the back window, so I had a good idea who the culprit might be just by the name and the … (23 comments)

camping: Though our camping trip did end earlier than expected, I still got a couple good pictures - 10/04/10 01:25 PM

Yes as with all our vacations something must go wrong with it and this little test run with our new tent trailer was no exception. Good news is it really wasn’t anything wrong with the trailer itself, but rather one of my kids. We were forced to come back and visit the urgent care facility with our youngest. (She is alright, just too much acid in the tummy)
But, while we were only camping for about 36 hours, we did get a couple good pictures for you to enjoy, hopefully next venture will be a little longer and have a … (24 comments)

camping: Are you a veteran living in, or wanting to live in, Washington County? - 01/07/09 12:38 PM
If you answered yes to either of these questions, then do I have some great news for you! Washington County offers some great benefits to you as a thank you for your service to our great country and keeping us free. Additionally, there are some other state and national benefits that you may not know about either.
This one is a big one if you are planning on buying a home, or already own a home, in Washington County. If you are a 40% disabled veteran, or a widower of a veteran, you maybe entitled to an exemption on your property taxes. … (9 comments)

camping: Amazing photos of an amazing place – Silver Falls Oregon – The Lower South Falls - 09/16/08 03:32 AM
Silver Falls State Park in Oregon has to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth. The Lower South Falls is only one of the 10 featured falls at Silver Falls State Park, but this park isn't for weak hearted.
To get to this fall you have to take a mile hike and the first 2/10 of a mile are very steep and take you by the South Falls and then another 8/10 of a mile hike with another 85 step drop to the falls. But the falls are a beautiful site as you can see from the photos below. This … (20 comments)

camping: My nine year old plays Monopoly and she is cruel! - 09/14/08 03:07 AM
Everyone knows the game of Monopoly and we all know what properties we want to own and which ones are less desirable. But, when you are playing a game about buying real estate, you better know your competitor or they may go for the throat and that is exactly what my daughter did when she started to lose.
You see my wife being the wise investor she was, bought some lower end properties, you know the ones I'm talking about! (Mediterranean and Baltic Ave) Well, it seems my daughter didn't want those properties and wanted only the ones that made her more … (24 comments)

camping: Silver Falls State Park, Oregon – South Falls - 09/13/08 12:47 PM
Last week our family took one of our week long camping trips, but what my wife didn't bother to tell me is we had no internet service there. Despite that, I think I have come up with some amazing photos of the falls to show you.
Silver Fall State Park is located just outside Silverton and is one of the most beautiful parks in Oregon. As you can see from the photos below the South Falls are some of the most beautiful in the world.

This picture was taken from behind the falls

camping: Before Activerain, Before the Internet…There was FIRE! - 09/12/08 01:58 PM
As many of you found out earlier this week, I am addicted to Activerain and I would do anything to get my Activerain fix, even if that meant "Going to get ice". But, what do you do when you have no internet? Well I was forced to find out this last week and here is what I came up with to do during the normal time I am on Activerain.
Well, of course, as a MAN... I PLAYED WITH FIRE!

This may seem a little large for a desk plate, but I'm proud of it just the same!See what you can do with … (27 comments)

camping: Beaverton Oregon Real Estate: Better to ask forgiveness than permission or just buy a tent - 06/15/08 03:07 AM
We all have done it, a little work here, a little work there, heck it is our own house right? But, when does that little work around the house go from little work to needing a permit?
Well, that isn't a question I can answer easily, because each city has a different set of guidelines to what has to be permitted and what doesn't.
But, when in doubt...ASK! Why? Because this next story was from a person in my farm in Beaverton, Oregon that thought it was better to ask for forgiveness than permission. Because of it, he not only had to pay … (7 comments)

camping: Oregon's Columbia Gorge - What a sight - 10/13/07 10:34 AM
Yes it is true, I wore a leash everyday during the summer when I was toddler. You see, both my parents are teachers, and during the summer months my dad worked as a camp ranger in the Oneonta State Park and Campground.
The reason for the leash was, when I was one and a half, while hiking on these trails with my parents, I thought I would take an adventure that wasn't on the map. I fell off the trail and fell down a cliff onto a ledge. Lucky for me, I was stunned, and didn't move and fall the rest of … (5 comments)
