family: OK, my daughter has a great sense of humor - 05/22/12 05:03 PM
OK, as many of you know we homeschool our children and I wouldn’t ever consider changing our minds on that. Especially when she does things like this! Today her homework assignment was to write a haiku and this is what she came back with.
Meesha is awesome
But she does not like writing
Do not make her write
Now, I’m sorry, but that is funny! In public school I’m pretty sure she would get in trouble for writing that! But, instead, I’m giving her a GOLD STAR!

family: Out with my camera today and came across some EGG-cellent photo opportunities - 04/07/12 08:28 AM
While at the gym I met my new work out partner, lucky for me he breaks easier than I do, but he does seem to be doing very well on his high protein diet.
Next up, as I was leaving the gym, which is near a Walmart, I noticed White Trash Egg coming out, dressed in the ever popular Sunday best for Walmart… in a ‘70’s tube top. (Shhh, I think she stuffs)

Then, while at a concert, once again there was a wardrobe malfunction with the EGG-hibitionist. It was sad to see, but like Janet at least she had … (29 comments)

family: My friend told me… - 01/16/12 11:49 AM
Oh, the words I really don’t like to hear from a buyer or a seller. You know the phrase “My friend told me…” Now, I was talking to a buyer on the phone the other day about a home they were looking at and about what was the best way to finance it in their situation.
I gave them the advice I had for them since they didn’t qualify for a traditional loan, that they really only had a few other choices. Those other choices were lease option, owner financing or just wait. There was one more and that was … (13 comments)

family: Home is a special place - 01/06/12 02:18 AM

Where we love is home - home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.
Oliver Wendell Holmes

I love this quote below because I believe that everyone should have a place to call home. Yet, so many really understand what a home is. Home isn’t a house, a condo, an apartment, no a home is a place where you heart resides. Foreclosure is tough on families, but to me a home is nothing more than a building and your true home is in your heart and as long as you stay with the ones you love, … (10 comments)

family: Clackamas County Parks: Ashley Meadows Park (Happy Valley, Oregon) - 12/26/11 12:52 PM
I love little neighborhood parks and Ashley Meadows Park in Happy Valley, Oregon (Clackamas County) is certainly one of those parks. Ashley Meadows Park is located just off 152nd and Sunnyside Road in Happy Valley, Oregon and unless you lived in the neighborhood, you would never know it was there.
Well after showing a home in that neighborhood a few days prior, I knew that I needed to bring my kids back and write a review about it. Though small, it still had everything a park needed! It had all the playground equipment and benches for the parents… Just about perfect!

family: I know you are watching me and I am also watching you! - 12/17/11 05:29 PM
One thing I love about Activerain is making new connections with other members around the country. One way of meeting these new people is finding new bloggers that I haven’t discovered yet and getting to know them through their posts. Also, another way is new people finding my posts and then commenting on my posts.
When someone does that, I will then check out their blog and comment on their posts and hopefully they have shared something about themselves that lets me know who they are and what they are about.  Each and every blog post is a small look into … (7 comments)

family: Clackamas County Neighborhood Parks: North Willamette Neighborhood Park in West Linn, OR - 12/06/11 06:54 PM
Clackamas County Neighborhood Parks: North Willamette Neighborhood Park in West Linn, Oregon is a great neighborhood park.  One thing I love about visiting these parks for review is that I get to spend time with my family.
When I used to do these reviews I would tell you how my kids felt about parks like North Willamette Neighborhood Park, but this time I wanted to do something different. I really wanted you my audience to get a feel of the park from the kid’s point of view.
So, I’ve handed over my camera to my youngest and let her tell you … (8 comments)

family: Leaving the office can sometimes be the best education - 11/27/11 07:40 PM

I love learning and I learn a lot more out in the real world than I ever could in a book. This is one of the reasons when I find a learning opportunity that I can either read about it in a book or go be hands on with the education, I will pile the kids in the car and we will go out and learn rather than reading about it.
You want to learn, go touch that tree, that rock, that mountain, feel the education and really learn.

family: Who are you following? - 11/10/11 01:38 PM

We all need someone to follow when times are tough. I know when I am in trouble or need help I look to my close friend, family and most importantly God for direction. We each must have a moral compass in this business, but unfortunately everyone’s moral compass isn’t the same and that is why we have ethics courses every couple years. But, I truly believe if you follow the right light, those classes wouldn’t be necessary at all.

family: Gladstone Real Estate: Parks make a community! - 10/25/11 05:43 PM
Gladstone Real Estate: Parks make a community! What makes me say that? One thing I love about Oregon and Gladstone is no exception is that we have lots of parks though out the community. When you go to these parks with your family it truly is a bonding experience.
You see when you walk, play or even have a picnic in these parks with your family you are together, you get a chance to talk and get to know what is going on in each other’s lives without the distraction of TV, games or computers.

family: The 2011 World Series: A chance to bond with my little Cardinal - 10/23/11 09:25 PM

As I write this between innings of the 4th game of the World Series 2011, I realize how nice it is to have something to bond over with my son. If you haven’t figured it out already, I’m a big baseball fan. It is a team sport that unlike any other sport if you aren’t playing together as a team, you just can’t win.
So, here I am cheering on the Cardinals with my son, though they are losing at this point, together we know they can come back and win. They do have the hitting in them as they … (6 comments)

family: Clackamas County Real Estate: Summerfield Park - 10/03/11 12:42 PM
Clackamas County Real Estate: Summerfield Park
One of the most awesome things about living in Oregon is the neighborhoods. A lot of neighborhoods in Clackamas County are built with families in mind and that is very evident by how many are built with small little parks within them. Summerfield Park is a prime example of these great neighborhood parks.

If you are looking for a great family neighborhood with parks right within them like Summerfield Park, then give us the Friendly Home Team a call, we would love to help your family home!

family: Leaving the classroom at home! Homeschooling is what was right for our family! - 09/23/11 01:55 PM
One thing I love about homeschooling is my kids aren’t stuck learning by books only. My kids when we study something will actually get in the car and drive to the place they are reading about and get to learn about that place by touching, feeling and seeing it firsthand.
If you want to learn about homeschooling, don’t hesitate to give me a call, I would love to tell you about our experience. If you want to move to Oregon me and my team are also here to help you.

family: Hiking on the Sandy River, the beauty that can be found - 09/20/11 08:58 PM
While out Geocaching with my family, we often go hiking on the Sandy River, the beauty that can be found is amazing, but something you need to look up. As we hiked up the river, my wife said “Look” and what did I see in the reflection but the bridge above.

This was amazing, so we decided to take a picture of the reflection and then the bridge above. As soon as that happened a little frog came up to us and my daughter picked it up and we snapped a picture of our new little friend before we put … (12 comments)

family: I’m proud of my son, he got the most food, balanced dinner for the least amount of money! - 09/03/11 01:22 AM
My son’s Boy Scout troop recently got the chance to plan a dinner for 5. Not, we all know kids tell their parents what they want for dinner all the time, but this time it was different. You see my son as part of this picking dinner, had to plan the dinner and buy the dinner.

My son was awesome! He planned a dinner for 5 people including desert for $4.00 less than anyone else! Now, this wasn’t all they got to do, they also got to work the cash register for the next person in the troop. So, they … (12 comments)

family: Friends, fun and a turtle all thanks to Activerain - 08/23/11 12:18 PM
One thing I’ve always loved about Activerain is the friends I’ve made. A few years ago, I had the chance to teach a class on Activerain up at here office in Vancouver, WA and that is when I got to meet the most amazing person and we have become great friends because of that class.

Well, this past weekend we got to have a great BBQ at my friend Jill Watts' house on the Washougal River in Washougal, WA. Now, this was a great chance to meet her family and even some of her grandkids and mother-in-law.

I do … (12 comments)

family: Don’t tell my daughter, but I’m actually missing her! - 07/26/11 11:58 AM
This summer has been an unusual one for me! My oldest daughter is starting to get to that age where she has overnight camps, not just one, but two. First was her Girl Scout camp and then she came home for two days and then has left again for young women’s church camp.
I hope she has fun, but I do have to say I miss her sense of humor around the house, she is actually getting pretty darn funny and she even laughs at my jokes from time to time when no one else will. (No I really miss that … (9 comments)

family: Activerain Raincamp my family wasn't left behind! - 06/21/11 12:34 PM
As I left Raincamp today, I went out to dinner with the family. As I mentioned at camp, I always have dinner with the family. I have to admit we had it a little late today because our first choice of places to go was closed. Then we ended up going to Kidd Valley, I enjoyed the garlic fries at the Mariner’s game way too much.
Then they told me about their day with a friend of my wife and their time at a local park seeing baby ducks and just having a fun time without daddy. (For the record that … (16 comments)

family: Here at Raincamp and I thought I would write about well… Family! - 06/20/11 11:29 AM
Yesterday was Father’s Day and my family and I came up to Seattle a couple days early to have some fun. We went to see my wife’s aunt and uncle and had a great dinner with them. But, my family came with me to Raincamp, so they could take me to the Seattle Mariners game on Sunday for Father’s Day.
You are asking what does all that have to do with real estate? Well, I can tell you it has everything to do with real estate for me. I got in to real estate so I could provide for my family, … (23 comments)

family: I have to say I’m pretty proud of my son! - 06/13/11 01:55 PM
Over the last four days my son has been playing in the Little League playoffs and thanks to a couple well placed hits including a double that knocked in a run. The Mariners Little League team my son plays on placed 2nd in the Forest Grove little league championship.
Way to go son, we are so proud of you!
