google: What happened to my Activerain? What the heck is a Houseble - 04/01/11 04:15 AM

I was working on my Stats posts that I work with Thursday night and there it was at the top, it said “Houseble”. What the heck is Houseble and where is my Activerain. Now, I have all these pretty shirts that say Activerain, what to do with them.

OK, this raises a lot of questions for me. Is this going to change links within Google? Will Activerain become Houseble.com ? What does this do for our linking juice from places like Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites.
I’m sure there is nothing to really worry about, but as … (19 comments)

google: How are you reaching out for more business? - 10/11/09 12:40 PM

On Friday, I decided that even though I have over 2000 blog posts all working for me on Google, that there had to be a way to do more. How can I make Google love my blogs even more and also build business?

So, after 2000 posts without any help from anyone else, I reached out to a couple mortgage professionals and I will be reaching out to a few more here in the next couple days. I've asked them to be contributors to my outside blogs. Not with technical stuff, but just stuff about the community that I … (64 comments)

google: Want to impress your new client? Have their home on the 1st page of GOOGLE in less than 24 hours! - 07/30/09 02:48 AM
Sounds easy to get a client’s home on the first page of Google, and you are right, if they look up their address. But, what happens when their friend calls them and says, “I saw the home you listed yesterday on page one of Google and I was searching for “Beaverton Oregon First Time Home Buyer” and you are number one AND number three on Google.” Then the friend asks, “Who is your agent? That is dang impressive!”
Now, that is what I did with the power of Activerain (Outside Blog) and Realbird this week. When you get a call from … (19 comments)

google: I blog a lot, but I still have a lot to learn and I won’t lie about that - 02/24/09 12:35 PM

I didn’t know this was possible, but I’ve gotten three e-mails in the last week all from one person, but no return address or a signature on any of them. How can you do that? Now, none of the e-mails were bad, they were actually full of great advice.
I have been writing a lot lately about me being a prolific blogger, but not a great one. The e-mails all gave me great ideas on how to improve my blog look, feel and even how to do something called long-tails.
So, I am going to be changing how I … (23 comments)

google: Google me this… Where oh where could Todd Clark be? - 02/19/09 12:22 PM
Google me this… Where oh where could Todd Clark be? I have to admit Todd Clark is not that unusual of a name, and because of that, when you search for Todd Clark on Google, the numbers 1 - 10 of about 4,640,000 pops up and it seems I am not on page one of Google.
WHAT? I’ve posted over 1200 posts! How in the world could I not be on the first page of Google for my name? It seems I forgot one very important tag on 95% of my posts over the past two years and that was to … (22 comments)

google: The power of the rain (Still alive in Google a year later) - 12/18/08 10:09 AM
THANK YOU ACTIVERAIN and GOOGLE! Today I got a call from a buyer that hired me because of posts I did last year! The buyer said they wanted someone who was family oriented and loved where they lived and I was that person.

Why did they say this? Last year, I wrote a series where every night we would go out and take pictures of neighborhood Christmas lights and put them into a slideshow format for the world to enjoy.
The Highland Hills neighborhood in lights! (Beaverton, Oregon)
This client said anyone that would do that every night with … (17 comments)
