Now, as if you can’t figure out that I love baseball, I’m here to tell you I do and lucky for me, so do my kids. This is my youngest and I’m proud to say the best one on her team, she can hit, catch and outrun anyone else on the team… She is a serious player!

Yep, spring time is upon us and that means the diamond will soon be filled with players from all around and families in the stand cheering them on. As many of you know I love baseball and my kids have been playing for years and this year is no exception.

hillsboro: I have to say I’m pretty proud of my son! - 06/13/11 01:55 PM
Over the last four days my son has been playing in the Little League playoffs and thanks to a couple well placed hits including a double that knocked in a run. The Mariners Little League team my son plays on placed 2nd in the Forest Grove little league championship.
Way to go son, we are so proud of you!

Though the calendar says spring was her, the weather certainly wasn’t letting us know that it was spring, (It was 38 at game time) but still those two things don’t mean spring to me. What means spring to me is to hear that first crack of that bat hitting the ball into outfield as my kids started little league this week.

Giving back is what we should thing about doing everyday. Saving someone's life isn't something you should have to be asked to do. But, today I'm going to ask you to do just that.  I promise you can be a hero! How can you be a hero in only a couple hours?  Donating blood at the local Red Cross. (Especially if you have a rare blood type)

According to Money Magazine, the awesome place I call home, Beaverton, Oregon is one of the top 100 places to live in America and this is why I have been raising my family and been telling you about it for the past three years., Now also on that list is our neighbor to the west Hillsboro, Oregon. You may have seen me write about Hillsboro a few hundred times also as that’s where my kids play softball and baseball.

As the end of baseball season ends, my youngest had her end of the year party first. They decided to have it Out of this World Pizza and I have to admit I had never heard of the place before then. To be honest when I got the invitation I thought they had made a mistake. It was on the outskirts of Hillsboro, OR and in the middle of a heavy industrial area. As a huge Portland Blazer fan, not as big as Harvey pictured here, I was very pleased to see the return of Brandon Roy yesterday for the 2010 NBA Playoffs. Now tied 2-2 in the series with Phoenix, the Blazers will head back to Arizona for game 5. You know you have a dedicated coach when you see him carrying his other son on his back during a game. This is my daughters coach and I have to applaud him for not calling off when he couldn't find a a baby sitter. You don't have many dads today that I think would have done this just to make sure the kids weren't disappointed.

hillsboro: A School Bell Rang (Maybe?) - 03/28/10 09:31 AM

While the wife, kids and myself were out taking pictures of old barns we came across this wonderful find. What to us looked like an old school located off Jackson School Road of all places. I know, I should have known, but to be honest it was at the farthest end of Jackson School Road where I had never been until Thursday. There was no marker, nothing about this little school house. (But, the records for the building show it as a church meeting house as early as 1863) But, no where can I find the name of the school, just … (20 comments)
